airman555
This is really question to devs. Is there a chance that lazur equipment will be implemented in new 2.0 MiG-21? It will give a great advantage against modern figters in DCS.
Silver_Dragon
The Lazur system require a complex CGI system not present actually into DCS and a AI to control them. Some LAZUR system characteristics https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1475727&postcount=1 Edited May 11, 2018 by Silver_Dragon

-Rudel-
It's like an AWACS....MiG pilots wont need to turn on the radar to get to their targets. The GCI officer uses command of speed, altitude and heading until the target is visually acquired. 1 https://magnitude-3.com/ https://www.facebook.com/magnitude3llc https://www.youtube.com/@magnitude_3 i9 13900K, 128GB RAM, RTX 4090, Win10Pro, 2 x 2TB SSD i9 10980XE, 128GB RAM, RTX 3090Ti, Win10 Pro, 2 x 256GB SSD, 4 x 512GB SSD RAID 0, 6 x 4TB HDD RAID 6, 9361-8i RAID Controller i7 4960X, 64GB RAM, GTX Titan X Black, Win10 Pro, 512GB PCIe SSD, 2 x 256GB SSD
Frederf
Two different models: 1. MiG-21bis 75A Lazur for PVO "Fishbed L" 2. MiG-21bis 75B SAU for VVS "Fishbed N" DCS module is #2 which doesn't have Lazur equipment. Lazur is pretty cool it can transmit without voice the < | > lights in the radar scope for direction and some other things like the altimeter caret and airspeed marker could be driven remotely to indicate altitudes and speeds. It is for coordinating for example 20 interceptors against 10 targets where voice communication is impractical. Ground support equipment is complex and deployment impractical beyond fixed defensive installations of USSR. Lack of Polyot OI blind landing system is not a problem since ground radar approach support coverage would be excellent. SAU/Polyot-OI version can still do intercept of course but more information is voice and integration is not so automatic with ground machinery. Polyot OI system allows airplanes to land with less robust ground support in poor weather. SAU version still has SOD-57 equipment as tactical transponder for some non-voice ground monitoring. This is for example the group-single-landing-guidance knob on the right wall. I don't think there is any directive datalink like turn left or climb but you are being watched and can update your status and press the ident button. If Lazur verison is also made (similar to L-39C and L-39ZA) it will only be as good as the data streaming into it.
