I have my DCS install on my D drive. So, for example, I would open a Command Prompt and type: d: cd DCS World 2 OpenAlpha cd bin dcs_updater install NORMANDY_terrain If you have already tried this, my apologies. Medic8ed
Kev2go, try putting " .\ " at the beginning of the command prompt. Worked for me in windows 10 and should look like this: .\DCS_updater.exe install NORMANDY_terrain WWII-ARMOUR This worked right away and is a 6.4 GB file. If you already tried that, then my bad, just checking all the different angles. I was getting the same error you did until I realized I needed to put the " .\ " in front of the command prompt. I did not have to set up my OS any differently. Yea the environmental settings definitely don' want to change for some reason. anywho figured it out. Problem was with my Default path, being in within the same drive C but in USers " User profile name", so I Changed directory just to default C with CD/ command. From there on in imputing the directory path manually 1 by 1 compared to my earlier attempt which was trying to shortcut it by copying entire path address. prompts inputted to get it right for me: "C:\>cd C:\Program Files C:\Program Files>cd C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics>cd C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World 2 OpenAlpha C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World 2 OpenAlpha>cd C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World 2 OpenAlpha\bin C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World 2 OpenAlpha\bin>dcs_updater install NORMANDY_terrain" If i didnt write the Whole thing it would not recognize it ( at least for me) any case thanks for being good sports and trying to help me out. Speedbrake
Normandy Loading Time Anyone having a problem getting Normandy to load? I have both Normandy and the Assets package loaded and active. I go into Instant Action and select the Spitfire Takeoff mission and on the loading screen it gets about 4/5 of the way loading and does not go farther even after 5 minutes. I've done a repair a couple of times but that doesn't help. Also if I go into Mission Editor and select New Mission, then select Normandy, the screen goes dimmer and I can't select any countries or even get out of the page????? Update: I changed the mission to free flight and the mission loaded after three-four minutes. I then went back to Takeoff and it loaded, but faster. So I guess ignore the forst part of this post. However, is the mission editor working for normandy? I'm running on: Alienware Aurora i7-6700 Windows 10 16 GB RAM Nvidia GeForce 1070 w/8GB RAM GDDR5 Edited May 27, 2017 by Speedbrake Update
Torso
Do you have any wind in the mission so that there is some chop to the water? I was surprised too to see the water had no depth/movement at all when I got all working finally. So unless you set high wind the ocean is basically at a 'glass' setting by default it appears. Would be nice if ED made a change to make it have some minimum movement by default, so that it was not like a solid plane surface by default as it is now currently or rely on the user to set it up. I flew a couple quick missions and the mission creators appeared to leave it at wind 0 instead changing it so mission creators need to consider this as well it appears. Perhaps, I don't think I have seen a completely calm ocean, so maybe they can build some movement in without any wind. Of course I havent seen many days at the beach with zero wind either, least not in my neck of the woods :) Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
