Pivoting

So i have an issue here. Last night i went to unscrew my stick from tghe base and i guess the rotational pressure caused my stick to twist in its base. Forgive me if i sound like a noob. When i unscrewed my stick it seemed fine but then i checked the actual mount for the stick and it was pivoting. I really am not sure what happened so any insight is appreciated.
