AN/ARC-164 PLANS

FlyNate

Recommended Posts

I NEED PLANS for the AN/ARC-164 PLEASE. I am CnC'ing my own panels and am having a hard time finding plans for the ARC-164. Does anyone happen to have a link they are willing to post for me? It would be much appreciated. I want to make the version of the 164 with digital readout like in the A-10C in-game...

THANKS SO MUCH :helpsmilie:

FlyNate As far as I know there are no FREE plans( IE CAD or DXF files that could be CNCed) on the net for the AN/ARC164 radio control head.

CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.

Much appreciated and congrats my friend!!! I have been married almost 8 years now. I wish you the best. I found something that will work but I'd rather have the file you are making. I'll see how this file goes that I found and it might make a good temp until yours is finished. CONGRATS AGAIN BROTHER!!!!!

Hi DC. Site is up currently but can't say for how long. Plan is to replace the HW tomorrow evening. Made some adjustments to it this afternoon but have a hunch the box is ready for target practise if it doesn't survive till then

Devon just a couple of thoughts FlyNate has posted that he is building panels for sale http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=119059

So if your read Duckling's ( Gus) page he has a note

"Disclaimer: No guaranties are made what so ever. Files are downloaded at your own risk. They been virus scanned etc with no findings.

Again, free to use for all non profit reasons AND.. note that many of the stuff have deviation from the “original”.

So Nate should really ask Gus before he starts building off of his plans .

Yes there is a bit of free stuff out there for the A-10 home builder some is useful and may fit in the pit most does not.

At this rate ill end up jaded and cynical....

Yupp. True note from Deadman. Haven't found any hidden code in any of my stuff but most diff from the original in some way or another. Mostly to fit alternate components and to ease the pain of building a true replica. Let's say with a tweek to fit my needs. Outer dims should be rather accurate but placement of components is best effort.

For copyright issues, the possibility to win a potential dispute would be less then nill I think. If anyone by chance would find any of my humble stuff interesting for 'semi'production, possibility exists for an agreement together with more extended material but wount be for total free :-) None asked for that so far through the years though..

On the other hand if someone uses existing material for a home pit, I got no problems with that at all.

Have a CNC and laser nearby but decided long ago not to go into business with this. Much more fun to do'em by hand when possible even if the outcome is less then perfect.

Cheers

Gus

No hard feelings at all, DC. Nate state he build from R1s plans and if any issues arise from that, I can't say. Think R1 let em free to fly but regard that statement as a roumor until verified. It's a hard foggy line of between any copyright claim and "free" stuff found on the net. It's more up to a potential buyer nowadays to chouse and it's not a easy task.

Devon I was just pointing out what you missed by bing new here. Not policing any thing. There are many current admins to take care of that.

So no hard feelings

None taken.

I had already PMed Gus and cried uncle, despite the fact that it wasnt me that actually mentioned his plans in the first place. But no matter.

Its an interesting point tho, given that the actual base schematic was originally owned by Raytheon (god knows who actually owns it now? Uncle Sam?) Id be surprised if anyone managed to stand that up in court and win anything - in fact only the lawyers win.

Id suggest that anyone making any money out of panel building without a factory line behind them is entitled to any profit they make for the labour/effort alone.

Ive already made my mind up that its definitely something i would NOT do. My gawd the pain soldering these damn switches!!!!I think my fingertips are number with solder burns

Oh yeah, just because i only started posting 2 months ago doesnt mean im "new" to the board. But yeah if you want to compare me to some others im still a bit wet behind the ears.
