Monitors - what’s hot

Recommended Posts

4k is future.

But 4k up close and small doesn't make sense.

4k big and farther away is best. Good for immersion, and small details aren't lost because the pixel density is too high.

I think BFGD makes the most sense, though 65" is probably too big. 50-60" would be a better sweet spot.

I went with an Asus XG35VQ and Asus Strix Vega 64. Best combination of good performance now, FreeSync and Vulkan support for later.

I'm sure an Nvidia solution would be better for DX11 but to get Variable Refresh Rate on Nvidia will cost an extra 200-300 USD for the display.

Just depends on your view distance amd preferences. From more than a few feet away, there is no.difference between 1080 and 4k. Up close, just remember 24'' @ 1080 = 48'' @ 4k. The benefits of pixel density slip if you get too big. Imo, 1440 ultrawide is the sweetspot.
