F-15C Landing problem (video)

Recommended Posts

Cannot land the F-15C without loosing the landing gear. At high speed (normally too high) no problem, at low speed (normal recommended landing speed) goodbye wheels ! :helpsmilie:

There is absolutely nothing that I can do with a youtube video. At the very least I need a track recorded with 1.2.2.7570.

Landing on a cratered runway is in deed a bad idea.

No brakes, it slows all by itself !

You went right over a bomb impact crater, nothing wrong here.

Well, shouldn't the craters be visible as long as they are active...The runway is nice and clean although it has been bombed.

They are visible, hence the necessity of doing a Run-and-Break landing, especially when you know the airfield has been bombed.

Why are you even reporting this as a bug?

Didn't see anything, did you ?

I'll redo everything and check, but may be the bug is that I don't see the craters, are they visible on the track ?

Or does everybody assume there are craters because the airport has been bombed ?

OK, I finally saw the craters, but they flicker and vanish at certain angles, like when you land...By doing a pass before I saw them flickering strongly...that is the bug really.

Thanks all for your patience, I have a flickering crater problem.

I guess with upgrades of either DCS or NVIDIA, the problem will certainly disappear.

Sorry for not getting the crater thing at first I thought people were making a joke since I never saw the craters in the first place.

I'll update my NVIDIA driver now and check again.

Thanks All, and happy holidays (without craters I hope).

I even saw them in your blurry youtube video. Did you ever read my posts?

I think I saw one pass bye at the very end...You see it if you know what to look for...

Sorry for not taking the crater thing seriously at first, I thought you were making a joke, so I ignored it. Sorry man, I will take your posts seriously now.

LOL: The runway is full of holes

We clearly have different video systems. No crater was visible during landing.

Bumping this old thread, I have a fix for the flickering craters see attachment.

thanks mustang will this work with the other odd texture flashing i.e tops of buildings, and taxi ways and runways?

NVM it does work thank you.

Yes this little tweak will fix nearly all terrain Z fighting problems, all I did was raise the LAND_DEPTHBIAS by a fraction so no flickering occurs - a good example are destroyed vehicles, you have probably noticed the blackened ground flickering when zooming in on them from a distance, this no longer happens.
