So excited to buy the Persian gulf and fc3 but feel pretty cheated ( unless im missing something?)

Persian gulf shows as installed but cant run any training missions on the map

Persian gulf shows as installed but there in no icon on the loading screen

Cant run any of the FC3 missions on the map

Very few mission for the a10 or the f15 in FC3 ( thats if I knew how to fly them )

Very little training missions for either the A10 a or the f15

At no point during the buying process was this pointed out

Pretty poor IMO - that's unless im missing something?

Id be grateful if you could help in this matter as customer service dont seem to want to

tia

That's a brand new map. No, there isn't much for it yet. The new part again. You can make your own or download some if you MUST play that map. Otherwise use any of the dozens of missions on Caucasus. A training mission is just as good irrespective of the map it's on.

You bought a map, not a campaign pack. It isn't stated because it's obvious. You're buying a A MAP. What missions a specific plane has varies, as well as what maps it had missions made for, depending on the plane. Missions do not magically poof into existence just because you own a particular plane.

New missions are coming up pretty quickly. Don't think of it like being cheated. Think of it to have the advantage to familiarize yourself with the map before the action begins.

I also think that the map has many great challenges to master.

The editor is fairly easy to use if you want just some simple missions (but they are not scripted tutorials...). You can set the exact challenge you want for your level. 1 Mig, 2, 3, 4? No problem. Only guns or IR missiles as armament? Can do! 4 wingmen in state of the art craft? Not much limits on what you can build with it...

Would actually be quite nice if the 3rd party module creators would add a mission or two for new maps... but development takes a long time, resources are limited.

thanks for the reply I kinda get that

But it still not answering the lack of training mission for the a10 or the F15 with in fc3

You bought a product that is downgraded from the full modules. When those aircraft were programmed initially there wasn’t even a DCS World. YouTube is your friend. If you want real training missions buy a “real” module such as the A10C.

As far as where the missions take place, would it really make sense to make all the training missions for a map that many people don’t own? Caucuses is free so it makes sense that all training missions (unless it’s a DLC campaign) take place there.

Many other people than you would be pretty pissed if they had to buy the Persian gulf map just to learn their planes.

As Draconus suggested, check the "missions and campaigns" forum or the ED user files section for a ton of great community-generated content for the new maps.

Through the Inferno specifically should keep you entertained for quite some time, as well as Reflected's op. He has recently released some official content for the sim, and his free community missions have always been of exceptional quality.

You can also swap out the F-15 for any of the other jets in A-A ops by opening them in the mission editor. Unless something requires you to punch in coordinates in flight, you should easily be able to enjoy those in the F-15.

As for training, your best bet is to check out some of the YouTube content. Pac-Man has done a pretty thorough series on the systems which you can find

  • 1 year later...

The missions came with each aircraft, not with the Maps ... and the training missions are always on the map everyone has: caucasus ... you should make your due dilligence better, before throwing accusations away
