Graphics Drivers NVIDIA

Recommended Posts

Hello

Tried the very latest drivers today on BlueFlag latest OpenBeta. In the air especially, the FPS go from; 60+ to 15 to 60+ again and again etc etc.

I have a 2070 Super, so I rolled back to 436.30 which are a couple of driver iterations after the release date of my card. All is smooth again. AND the boats no longer have a weird shadow ghosting around them in the PG map.

In case anyone is having issues?

I stopped updating drivers. My system runs smooth and i'm not messing with it anymore.

edit........I had to go look to see what drivers I had. It looks like i've had my drivers for quite a while. I'm using 432.00. :)

Can anybody tell me what’s the best FPS and temp program to use while playing DCS or any other game that stays on the screen while flying. I have heard of msi afterburner and cpuz. Do these work? Thx

I've spent hours yesterday and watching alot of videos on MSI Afterburner and could not get it to show up on screen while flying. I can hit alt+tab and it will show up but I can only see the graph that I detached with no frame rate speed. I have it checked to show OSD but with no luck. I've been thinking about it all day trying to figure what the hell am I not doing right. When I first loaded the program and restarted... opened it up and did minimal checks, kept it open along with riveria, open DCS and I had 1 showing up, I believe it was only the CPU1 and nothing else. Although my new rig, to me as a newbie "FNG" everything runs really good, smooth and the fans sound like they are doing its job too. I have everything set to High performance, but I really would like to know my numbers. Also as far as Temperature do we go by Celsius or Fahrenheit? I would love to use the program but somethings blocking it to show up. Confused.

Are you flying in vr ? Afterburner and vr don't play well together .

Look at that screenshot, it has all the relevant option menues open that you need to work with to adjust the OSD, content and placement wise, with an aktiv OSD shown on the left in the Protein Viewer from F@H Covid-19 research.

note that "Framerate" and "Frametime" have both, Text and Graph, as seen in the Protein Viewer.

Under the Tab "On-Screen Display" you should define 1 key combo, I use CTRL+F11, to toggle the OSD on/off. Delete the next two entries below if present for Show & Hide OSD.

Play with it in an app that uses windowed mode first, that shows you directly what you do after hitting APPLY ;)

Play with it, it's worth it.

Yes that’s exactly what I’ve been seeing that has got me so frustrated. I will definitely dig back in and I’m determine to get it going BitMaster. As always and once again a big thanks. Take care.

There is a problem with the 445.75 driver that randomly drops GPU clock speeds while flying resulting in these unexplained framerate drops, there has since been a hot fix driver out that supposedly corrects this (cannot verify since I'm still on 443.59)

https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/geforce-hotfix-driver-version-445-78.431342/

Thanks for this..rolled back graphics driver and used your disable gamedvr reg trick.

Definitely got some VR mojo back...had given up lately with stuttering and fps drops.

I have had multiple problems for the past several nVidia driver releases. It all started with a black flash while browsing anything with video content in Microsoft Edge and at some point it broke Vulkan when using Oculus VR to play Aerofly 2. So, I went back to this same 436.30 that you chose and now any and all applications with graphics issues are running smooth. DCS World VR performance seems stable and fast. I am tempted to advance through the driver versions to establish when the problems started developing, but "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!" If I don't have any driver issues, I am sticking with these until I upgrade to newer hardware.

I finally got MSI Afterburner to work !!!!! hell yes. It would not show up for nothing. And I did everything to this damn program except the check/enable 64-bit applications support service and it popped right up. Thc BitMaster !!!

BTW, I am not aware of that switch and even less that you have to enable it to get the OSD to work. It works out of the box as it is with OSD...strange
