Could having Python 7 and not having the install for all checked be causing mine to lock up? So far I have not seen any enemy planes. Not sure if its something I am messing up or not.

Python issue should result in crash, not behavior like this. Please refer to the manual: https://github.com/shdwp/dcs_liberation/wiki/Manual#starting-at-airport-player-attacking-enemy

Basically you have to get everyone up in the air, only then the enemy planes would spawn.

 

Hi shdwp this look like awesome, i have a squadron 718th an interesting in your mission but we try to start and nothing happen, my saved games is in C:\saved games\DCS.openbeta\ , is no problem with this or where can i change the command to execute your mission tks

Need more details. Application will generate it's mission either in "DCS.openbeta" (if that exists), or "DCS". Also there could be problems if your "DCS" folder not under "%UserProfile%". Also you could check the https://github.com/shdwp/dcs_liberation/wiki/Troubleshooting page, it gives more details about handling unusual "Saved Games" paths.

 

Id like to change my take off option on carrier to "Take off from runway". Im having issues getting hooked up to cat. ---- I have not found where to edit that. Is there a way to do that.

No, and I doubt there would be. Maybe skip the t/o altogether and just use liberation_next_quick, which would put you already in the air? Or just sort out the hooking issues.

Thanks for the new version, shdwp ! The tanks spawn in much more credible places now.

 

Another slight problem : when I start a frontline attack mission with Gazelles and Ka50, they both spawn at the same place, crushing each other at the beginning of the mission. I think they need a separate FARP.

I tried to copy and paste, but that window it pops up in is not letting me do that. I will figure out how and paste it. I love the game though, it is exactly what DCS has been missing. I was able to attack one base before it started giving me the error.... ok Ill go now and try to get it copied.

This is exactly what we (Red_Raiders) have been looking for. We have downloaded and installed the mission, all works great! We have played the first mission multiple times because we cannot get the app to recognize the debrief.log. Followed the instructions for multiplayer and every time we get "mission failed". We destroyed all planes and the transport. We must be doing something wrong with this instruction “After you complete the mission, you should go into the slots selection screen and reload the mission again” or we are just dumb. Can anyone help?

I made an issue on github. Will fix.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but I just thought of a few potential features that could really help bring things to life:

 

1. AI only Aircraft options. It would be really amazing if you could also purchase and use AI Aircraft in your missions. Would be cool to, for example, set up an escort flight of F-16s to fly with you on a strike mission. Could perhaps label the aircraft as (AI ONLY) in the purchasing page or something.

 

2. I know this has been touched on before, but being able to set your loadout from within the UI would be utterly fantastic! Sometimes I want my flight to carry a different loadout but the sometimes I just want to hop in and fly without messing with all of that.

 

3. Also touched on by me and several others but JTAC and smoked targets would be awesome. Even if its smoke in the general vicinity, would give me a place to start looking.

 

4. Aircraft variety! Could we perhaps have the ability to set available aircraft in the initial mission setup within the UI? Also, would be nice if we could have things like the F-86 and MiG-15, even the warbirds as options. Do you think the aircraft available for purchase could eventually be tied to the airfield you have captured, forcing you down the low-tech route? (Maybe this could be an optional thing? Considering some people may not have all the modules)

You mean to add the other aircraft too, not only playable ones, right (cause it's already possible to have AI pilot the scrambled planes if you don't allocate player slot for it)? I don't see much use in it, at least for the roles that are already covered by playable aircraft.

Yeah, this is probably the most requested thing. I've thought about this multiple times, will probably be implemented, one day.

I don't want to force planes at airfield level, I think this is more a question of progression. Enemy AI will start with C101s and Mig21 at first, and those would be replaced first with M2000Cs and later with Su27 and Mig29. I've looked trough it, it's not properly generated. You've probably didn't do the instructions correctly. I'll make a video tutorial for MP since it is a very confusing thing to actually get right.

On mobile so it’s a bit hard to format but...

 

On the first point, I just like the idea of setting up a full USAF flight, with F-16s, F-15s, and A-10s. Since the F-16 is AI only it would be nice to have. Also, US doesn’t really have a SEAD platform yet so the only way currently would be to use the F-16 AI. On that note, a future SEAD focused mission type would be pretty fun.

 

Then on the last point, I agree with you, but would still at least like to be able to have a UI ability to pick what aircraft are available (at least the official DCS modules, I’m ok with adding mod aircraft manually) and also if the MiG-15 and F-86f Sabre could be included as options. They are old but would still be neat to fly in the campaign. (I say this as I don’t have either but have been eyeballing the Sabre for the next time it goes on sale...)

 

*edit* just wanted to throw in a quick mission ideas list for your consideration in future updates:

 

-SEAD

-bomber intercept (scramble from airfield and attempt to stop attacking bomber)

-fleet defense (same as above but defending the carrier from anti ship attackers)

-transport convoy attack

Hi! Yesterday I have tried the LDC and - I must admit - I'm quite impressed, great job so far! :thumbup:

 

As I would use it for 5-15 players in coop mode I have some questions:

  1. (feature request) Any chance to set the settings of the mission - we usually turn off map signatures, do not allow external views, easy com off etc. ? It would be nice to set difficulty settings per the whole campaign
  2. (feature request) Once easy com is off it would be nice to have com freqs generated and put into the briefing
  3. (feature request) As I would like to have this campaign live at our forum for some time - it would be nice to have a possibility of easy export to images/txt the following:

    1. Current map
    2. Current inventory in all BLUE bases
    3. Simple log what happened, so far since the beginning of the campaign
    4. Also it would be nice to have MP user names put into all the logs

[*] I've read the manual for multiplayer, but still I'm a little lost - the manual says:

After you complete the mission, you should go into the slots selectio screen and reload the mission again. If you don't do this DCS will not generate correct debriefing!

So, once we think we are done with the mission (shall some popup appear?) the players can disconnect and what exactly shall be done at the host - shall I click "disconnect" and re-host the mission again? (assuming host is not playing)

First great work! I love it.

 

 

I started adjusting the code a bit but wow is my python rusty . added some random AA near cap patrol and stuff.

 

 

I think the map could use a bit more aa specially in strike next thing I probably gonna add.

The program is wonderful, put to improve, could a button be integrated to reset the current campaign? (Delete the files Saved Games \ DCS. [openbeta] \ liberation_save and Saved Games \ DCS. [openbeta] \ libertation_save_tmp). I think it has been said already, but putting the frequency of the aircraft carrier in the briefings would help (and if you can also the airport, it would be perfect).

Those seem pretty much fine, fancy creating a pull request?

 

Without those obviously (should be a setting in the config instead of ripping it off completely):

- disabled cas mission, helo (because I dont aim to do those)

- label only for allies

 

Great stuff, what bothers me the most is that I can see enemy planes on the map even though I have disabled the option in the DCS menu, Any chance to get rid of it?

I'll look into it. I haven't specifically set it the way it is, maybe I've missed something.

Should be easy enough, I've added this to the list of enhancements.

I've had this in mind, probably add it too at one point.

Could you maybe have a look into the livery override for the MiG-21? For some reason it is the only aircraft which ignores this setting and will always have the Serbian as default. And yes I do have tried various liveries and made sure the naming was correct.
