Question on Mirage 2000C ECM

would you recommend this aircraft for a beginner?

Sure, but wait for more mature state, still early beta.

In the while F-15C module alone is pretty inexpensive to initiate to AA in DCS, and its avionic is closer to M-2000C than Russians aircrafts.

What level of beginner-ness?

I suppose any beginner can learn flying from scratch with this aircraft, however the landing might be a little tricky for someone not familiar.

Other than that, it's very easy to fly.

I think it would be better to start with a aircraft that is more forgiving - again, depending on "beginner-ness" - for example make your teeth on a clean SU-25T first (free, easy to fly)

Edit: wrong thread, actually - You should create a dedicated thread for this interesting question.

Forgive my image skillz ...

In following up on the D2M sensors on our M2000c module i made these images and found some antennas-pods- unknown to me.

Also the center line dual rack seems off center and may be causing a roll moment...

There is no DDM fitted currently to DCS M-2000C.

First 2 pics = what we have now in DCS = short MAGIC pylon without DDM

Last 3 pics = not available in DCS (and as jojo said, never saw it on 2000C) = long MAGIC pylon fitted with DDM (under cover).

[edit] Here is a pic from a 2000D with DDM and no covers (obviously, aircraft flying!): http://img.photobucket.com/albums/1003/jetsetmodels/3-JW.jpg

And here a big one of an early version of the rear-part (DDM) of the pylon: http://www.satsouvenir.fr/img/pages/contrib%20originales/delteil/C36.JPG

About the ECM activation, currently the method of choice looks like using 'E' which toggles the BR (jammer) A/M (OFF/ON).

But shouldn't we use the rotary selector instead (VEI/[]/PCM)?

I mean keeping it on M (ON) all the time, on position VEI (standby) when not using and [] or PCM (activated) to use it?

Just wondering...

The BR light doesn't turn on anymore with the latest patch, both in the 1.5.x and 2.x threads. What changed?

Goodness, when you work full time and have kids there is no way to keep up with these little changes.

I'll look for the new control, thanks.

Could someone make a summary of french technical acronyms of the Mirrage?

It would help everybody!

You have the manual, and if it isn’t enough you can switch it the cockpit in English :smilewink:
