Sniper175
Hey everyone, a little update. The map VR optimization changes are being integrated into the next DCS World version: 2.5.5. This will be for both the Caucasus and Persian Gulf maps. Nevada map VR optimization will come after. 2.5.5 will not be this week, but not too much longer now. As a few version, it's not as simple as a regular Open Beta, there needs to be a lot more testing and checking to make sure that all 3rd party modules are working. Thanks Need more testers im a retired, fully disabled military dude with nothing but time... and Knows all about OPSEC :joystick: I7-8700 @5GHZ, 32GB 3000MHZ RAM, 1080TI, Rift S, ODYSSEY +. caponi
will this VR optimisation has positive effects for normal monitor users (full-hd or 4k) too ? :music_whistling: no answer ... no effect ... thx  too much ...
Sniper175
no answer ... no effect ... thx  ya my guess is no as my theory is that in VR the terrain engine was being double drawn compared to 2d.... pimp
Will this optimization allow the Devs to increase the MSAA level, for example, including 8x & 16x options? I figured since the performance is increasing at the current state, will including more MSAA options be possible? i9 9900k @5.1GHz NZXT Kraken |Asus ROG Strix Z390 E-Gaming | Samsung NVMe m.2 970 Evo 1TB | LPX 64GB DDR4 3200MHz EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra | Reverb G1 | HOTAS Warthog | Saitek Flight Pedals

CajunJosh
This is awesome news, thanks for the update Wags. Out of curiosity, are there any changes in the lighting engine coming with 2.5.5? With regard to stuff like the nav and collision light bleed through in cockpits? Thanks for all the hard work. PS. Just picked up a Rift S today based on Wag's feedback. wolle
We are looking forward to having the promised VR improvements. Pimax is from now Open VR. What does that mean? (I'm a pimax user, so I'm curious..) Euan Emblin
Pimax is opening up its propriety software to the community, making it now Open Source software. This will greatly open up many avenues of development and should strongly enhance the Pimax platform. - 'The Dog's Rollocks' - [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] is a water cooled behemoth : i9 9900K@5GHz/RTX 2080Ti/32 Gb 3600MHz RAM/M.2 NVMe onboard drives/System driving Pimax 5K Plus/TM Warthog/MFG Crosswind/Gametrix Jetseat
