GoosemanF7
Hey Guys, am i supposed to use the TPOD for recon/target locking at night or just FLIR and HUD (for Dumb-fire) and the Maverick Seeker without DMT? Thanks
Revelation
DMT has no night or thermal optics. You will have to use FLIR or TPOD or a combination of them to ID and designate your targets. GoosemanF7
Got it. But without proper SPI/Slave commands for the TPOD its really hard to use those Mavericks during the night. Questionable design decision for a jet with night attack in the name.
Repth
The steps are the same using Mav's with the TPOD as they are with the DMT. You can slave the TPOD to the DMT and the Mav seeker head will track with the DMT camera like normal. I don't quite have the OSB buttons memorized yet so I couldn't tell you the exact one to press, but once the pod is warmed up and you have it armed you will see the slave command on the main screen. After that is as simple as uncaging the Mav, sensor select up into IRMV, lock the target, and then fire away. Edit: Scratch the slave command, it will say TDC. That will need to be selected in order for you to move the TPOD with the DMT. Edited February 21, 2018 by Repth

mojomonkey
Alternatively, use your TPOD to find targets, and put your DMT into LST mode. Then fire the laser to transfer TPOD target to DMT, then continue Mavving as normal.
Jenrick
Also flares, I haven't tested them lately to see if they're working in 2.5, would cause a CTD in 1.5.8. -Jenrick
drPhibes
Alternatively, use your TPOD to find targets, and put your DMT into LST mode. Then fire the laser to transfer TPOD target to DMT, then continue Mavving as normal. Just one question: why? The mav seeker is automatically slewed to the target you have marked with the TPOD when uncaging. Going via DMT/LST is completely pointless. If you have a TPOD, use it. If you don't have one, use the DMT.

GoosemanF7
How do you do it? I got the newest version of 2.5 and no matter if TPOD is in area or point mode, i cant get the mavericks to do it.
Deano87
If you follow this sequence it should work. Select Mav from stores page on left mfd, once the mavs have spun up, uncage the Mav, now bring up the DMT on the right mfd and press sensor select up (I think) so it reads IRMV in the top left corner. The Mav should skew to wherever the DMT is looking. Now open the TPOD page on the right MFD and take it out of standby and make it TGP and you should have a TPOD that's controlling the Mav seeker head. Again this is just how I do it, seems to work! davidp57
When the TPOD is in TDC mode, it autodesignates a target for the DMT as soon as you stop slewing the camera. This target point is automatically shared (by DMT) with the Maverick ; you simply have to setup your other MPCD to STRS, and press the Uncage button. Then you'll see the video feed from the Maverick seeker camera, which should be pointed at your target. If you start slewing again (TDC → TPOD camera) the Maverick target will be updated. Press Sensor Select Forward twice to switch from INS to IRMV (left hand corner of the Maverick MPCD display). Then the TDC will slew the Maverick. But you don't have to slew : simply press TDC Action and the Maverick will lock. Hope this helps... Maulkin
This procedure allows you to fire subsequent Mavericks without the TPOD shutting down. 1. Master Arm on 2. LEFT MFD -> MENU -> STRS -> select Maverick 3. wait for Mavericks to go active, if needed 4. uncage Maverick You should now see the Maverick view from the LEFT MFD 5. Sensor Select FWD (verify the IRMV or TVMV has a 'box' around it on the HUD) 6. RIGHT MFD -> MENU -> TPOD 7. RIGHT MFD -> TDC (on) 8. RIGHT MFD -> STBY (off) You should now see the TPOD view from the RIGHT MFD At this point you can use the TDC to move both the TPOD and Maverick views. Don't forget the "TDC Action/No Action" button will accelerate the slewing. Then as you start to get into range with the Maverick begin to occasionally press the "TDC Down (Action Position)" button to initiate the Maverick Seeker Lock. Once you attain lock you can fire the missle and the TPOD should remain on and you can once again use the TDC to slew both the TPOC and the next Maverick view to the next target. Unfortunately, if you have mounted a second pair of Mavericks they are counted as a separate group so you have to go through the uncaging process with them (steps 2 to 5) before you can use them. --Maulkin Windows 10 64-bit - AMD Ryzen 9 5900X @ 3.7 GHz - 32 GB DDR4 3600MHz RAM - EVGA FTW3 RTX 3080 - Asus Crosshair VIII Hero motherboard - Samsung EVO Pro 1 TB SSD - TrackIR 4 Pro - Thrustmaster Warthog - Saitek rudder pedals - Lilliput UM-80/C with TM Cougars
