Thread cleaned of Images from Andrey's project.

Right now I'm looking for diagrams on the Su-30's Lighting (Angles of Nose Gear Lighting), Positions of Lights other than the Wingtip and Tail nav lights.

 

Also need to gather information on the MK2 and MKI Stores and Pylon Setups.

I know, bad habit, it's in Sim as M2

 

On the 3D Note, I May end Up Building a New higher Detailed Cockpit and replace the one in this model, as it's really weirdly done, and they tried to use Photo's for textures instead of unique textures.

-Completely Reset all Materials,

(Original Materials had 3 or 4 Materials using the same Diffuse Textures, and there was a lot of orphaned maps to delete)

-Reset Materials, from 29 to 9, Merged Several Duplicate Materials that used separate Specular Settings into a Unified Material w/ Specular Map

-Re-Named All New Materials to not confuse w/ the old ones.

-Removed all the old holes, damage, decals, Aircraft Number Meshes and "Light Source Flare/Halo Effect" Meshes.

-Unique PBR Maps Added and Adjusted Slightly For Fuselage Maps, Wings, and Pylons etc.

-Added Normal Maps to Materials

-Adjusted some mesh positions to align better w/ the fuselage.

-Adjusted Albedo/Diffuse Textures for some items

-Added New PBR Ready Glass Textures to all Glass Items (Canopy, HUD, Light Covers, IRST Lens and Cover, Pilot Visors)

-Began Placing 3DS Max Light Sources and Light Meshes to replace old Lighting.

 

 

Once I Get substantial free time coming in a few weeks, I'll begin Cutting Aircraft Number Sections, Convertig' the new Materials to Composite Materials, which I can use to add Aircraft Number Decals as well as Damage to the Aircraft without using extra Meshes/Materials.

 

Once the Damage Animations/Textures are synced, it's just a matter of double checking animations, clean up of Art assets (remove extra textures/files), Rescript LUAs from scratch, begin adding some addon cockpit scripts, re-import all the old liveries to the new Materials.

 

Maybe by Late summer.

Right now the Plan is Su-30M2 and Su-30MKI.

 

The Grey Livery doesn't represent any specific Su-30 Version, I made a plain grey livery to better develop and check Microsurface/Reflectivity Maps.

I'm a bit confused by whether this will be an AI aircraft or flyable? Either way it would make a great addition, especially with the new SU-34 model

 

It'll certainly be a flyable mod, as for official AI, I don't really know but I hope as hell that it does become that!

It will not be integrated into DCS World, there are too many subtle issues w/ the 3D Model, and Details.

 

And Seeing how the Su27, 33 and 34 have all been replaced, I'd assume the stock Lock On Su-30 will be re-done as well eventually.
