Kaiza
I apologise if this has been asked already, but I cannot find the answer in search. Will the CA initial beta be MP compatible with A-10C/BS2/DCS world? Thanks in advance. WildFire
They stated that you would be able to fly A-10, P-51 or KA-50 in the game so I would assume the beta would have to be. As far as I know it was said somewhere that everything coming out from this point on would be a DCS:World module.
Kaiza
This is true, but no previous beta module that i am aware of has been compatible with other modules on release. Just wondering if this would be an exception. Grimes
Technically the P-51D beta is compatible with the World Beta... which also works with the A-10C and Ka-50 BS2 Full betas.... which is almost a bad "yo dawg" meme. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. WildFire
P-51 is a beta, and I think DCS:World is too. But you can fly the blackshark, P-51 or A-10 in world. Sniped*
Kaiza
Yes but P51 could not be flown with the a-10 or BS on release... All i wanted to know is when we get this beta are we going to have to wait for more patches for the other modules or will it be compatible on beta release. 1 [SIGPIC]http://img856.imageshack.us/img856/2500/a10161sqnsignitureedite.png[/SIGPIC]
shagrat
Kaiza has a point there... though I think it will be possible, if we get a DCS:CA v1.1.2.1 beta on initial release. If ED releases the beta with an "update" beta patch e.g. 1.1.2.2 we may have to wait for updated A-10C, BS2 and P-51D modules... though I doubt they will do it that way. It would spoil all the effort put into DCS:World and the modular system, wouldn't it? Any comments from the testers? Guess you guys already did a lot of patching, updating DCS:World and the modules? :D 1 Shagrat - Flying Sims since 1984 - Win 10 | i5 10600K@4.1GHz | 64GB | GeForce RTX 3090 - Asus VG34VQL1B | TrackIR5 | Simshaker & Jetseat | VPForce Rhino Base & VIRPIL T50 CM2 Stick on 200mm curved extension | VIRPIL T50 CM2 Throttle | VPC Rotor TCS Plus/Apache64 Grip | MFG Crosswind Rudder Pedals | WW Top Gun MIP | a hand made AHCP | 2x Elgato StreamDeck (Buttons galore)
cichlidfan
Wait and see. It is all still going to be beta and they will work together once everything is out of beta. It is not like they waited months before releasing the compatible versions of BS2 and A-10 anyway. Weta43
The modules will all fit into DCS.world, so all will be compatible with each other in MP. You will only be able to use the modules you own (or the Su-25T). Cheers.
Kaiza
Thanks Weta, great news, but I guess that means we will need to run beta patches on a-10 and bs... SackDestroyer
The modules will all fit into DCS.world, so all will be compatible with each other in MP. You will only be able to use the modules you own (or the Su-25T). So, even if you don't own Combined Arms, you can still join a CA server and attack/be attacked by player-controlled ground forces? Pyroflash
Correct, though you would not be able to partake in any of the actual controlling of said ground forces. If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.
mwd2
So, even if you don't own Combined Arms, you can still join a CA server and attack/be attacked by player-controlled ground forces? It would be the same thing, like before - if you have A-10Cs and Ka-50 in the Mission, you can only fly the aircraft model you have payed for...! SackDestroyer
That's cool... of course, the only thing that keeps me in the air when I fly the Black Shark now is the AI's dumbness; with actual players controlling the AAA I might as well eject before I leave the landing pad.
EtherealN
The basic idea here is that there's a unified battlefield, which is DCS World, and then you play for the products you want to use yourself - just like you purchase the Black Shark if you want to fly it, but if you don't you can still fly against and with them if you have an A-10C license. Kaiza
That raises a question- I wonder if we will we be able to turn radar off on equipped vehicles. I would guess that we probably wont, but it would be a fun feature. Tailgate
If you control the vehicles, why not? Having human controlled Shorad vehicles would improve the immersion considerably.
Kaiza
If you control the vehicles, why not? Having human controlled Shorad vehicles would improve the immersion considerably. Because it has been stated that only visual missile systems will be simulated.
