Knock-Knock
46 myself. Been at it since my dad brought home a Pong clone back in the late 70's, followed by the Commodore 64 in 84, Amiga 500 in 89, PC in 1991, first steeringwheel in 96, first 3D accelerated card in 98 (Voodoo 2). Couldnt say what my first simulator was, cause when would they be considered a simulator? Was it ACE Air Combat on the 64? Ive been mainly focused on sim racing though, and it wasnt really until 2012 that combat simulation got my attention, in the form of DCS. Some more interesting documentation on gamers, their age, what type of games they play, and on what platform. https://venturebeat.com/2014/04/29/gaming-advocacy-group-the-average-gamer-is-31-and-most-play-on-a-console/ - Jack of many DCS modules, master of none. - Personal wishlist: F-15A, F-4S Phantom II, JAS 39A Gripen, SAAB 35 Draken, F-104 Starfighter, Panavia Tornado IDS. | Windows 11 | i5-12400 | 64Gb DDR4 | RTX 3080 | 2x M.2 | 27" 1440p | Rift CV1 | Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS | MFG Crosswind pedals |

lazduc
First Sim was CPM driven on a Cromemco with a Dazzle video card, someone ported it over to the Imsai which I also have, then the Radio Shack TRS-80 Flight Simulator. Wire Frame type. Then to the Vic-20, then the Commodore-64, Amiga 1000, IBM clone CGA 8088 processor, then on up the Intel chain. Seems like I remember a very rudimentary simulator on the old Digital Vax and also one on a IBM 3090 at school. One was written in B code. I still have all the software, minus the mainframe stuff. I also have all the old computers. I also have boxes of old joysticks, hotas's, and various other flight sim paraphernalia. I am 75. Sorry for moving the average age up........LOL. Badger633
60 here started with "flight simulator" on the ZX Spectrum, the days when a programme may or may not load from an audio cassette tape...........amazing to see dcs now in VR as compared with the spectrum programme which consisted of a blue ground and horizon a few lines for a runway and a few white lakes ........wonder what flight simulation will be like in another 30 years.
