Oh please stop. ED can decide on their own how to run their business, they don't need armchair experts.

This thread is ridiculous.

Silver Dragon, you're not ED, you don't know ED's ressources.

Let's say that if a company never finishes the work and always start new unfinishable projects that add work debt to the pile, the company will die someday. Things have to be balanced that's all.

Yes, I´m not ED, but I worked on IT, and when a project has "stooped" and personal cant relocate on other projects, normally has fired. I only put some questions and none has answer how maintain the "new feature and modules" teams vs a only "polishing" team.

The armchair experts demonstrated to ED why their decision on the carrier was a highly detrimental one to their business — and ED ultimately agreed. So the more accurate thing to say would probably be “please continue”.

Agreed...open communication with the consumer base is always a good thing. Ultimately, it is up to ED as to how they run things, but feedback from us can lead to good decisions that are positive for everyone.

We are not "archair experts" saying nothing to ED. We are COSTUMERS that decide if we want to buy ED´s products or not in order of the degree of satisfaction we get from those products. And I find a way higher level of satisfaction in a finished and polished product than in a new ones in beta for years.

Here are some problems about the opinion exposed.....

Put all project in hold can need to fire not esencial personal (the actual in project crews on develop modules, maps, AI and new functionality), you can not maintain them. The direct problem, lost years of working experience on simulation developing and personal formed on working on DCS.

Next, you need build specialised teams to polished the engine and modules. If polishing the engine and module take mounts and years.... How can ED finance them? That can be a financial setback to ED.

When you complete the "polishing" (if ED survive) you need start to search personal to rebuild the "develop" teams (different to the polish teams) with new personal and training them on DCS. How many time take them? and after restart projects (Hornet and other modules has take years to develop).

Force to the 3rd parties to put on hold all projects? has in the same ED situation, you need to pay licences, salaries and etc. You send to the 3rd parties to close and lost your licenses?

Other point, What happens ED with the "profesional" projects if the main engine has "stalled"?

Again, you are not doing any favor to ED with your posts. First you were implying that we cannot trust in ED's words because "there are no promises", "nothing is writen in stone", "all can be subject to changes...". Now you are jumping into conclusions since nobody is saying ED should put projects in hold, but not to start new ones until the already running are finished, and what is worst, you are saying that ED can't finance if they allocate resources to polishing the engine and modules and they need to develop new planes continuously selling them in beta in order of continuing the business, and that´s exactly the fear of a lot of people into the community because we all know that means that kind of model of business incentivates to never really finish the products but to develop new ones... Man you get yourself into a HUGE garden every time you talk... With "defenders" of ED like you, the company doesn´t need enemies...
