Cedaway
Will DCS-M be released in pre-version (beta) like DCS-W was? The idea is: if you have time to build an updated engine or architecture but not certain if that works on every config, you could have a 'test bed' with customer's plateform, and the community could help in identifying where problems are. (But the customer should be warned that he's buying a beta product, as you did with DCS-W. thinking now that Nevada map should not be that far away:)) To modo's: If this question has an answer, you could close the thread and add it (eventually) in the FAQ. :pilotfly: DCS Wish: Turbulences affecting surrounding aircraft... MemphisBelle
Beta releases are not confirmed or even denied. ED hasn´t actually stated anythings about that. So that question would interest me as well. It has been asked several times in many threads. But no answer yet. So we still need to wait for a suddenly beta release...or even the full release thinking now that Nevada map should not be that far away:)) Should be out somethings around summer 2012...so we can enjoy it a couple month untill the worlds end...:D DCS-Tutorial-Collection BlackSharkDen - Helicopter only Specs:: ASrock Z790 Pro RS; Intel i5-13600K @5,1Ghz; 64GB DDR5 RAM; RTX 3080 @10GB; Corsair RMX Serie 750; 2x SSD 850 EVO 1x860 EVO 500GB 1x nvme M.2 970 EVO 1TB; 1x nvme M.2 980 Pro 2TB+ 3 TB HDD Hardware: Oculus Rift S; HOTAS Warthog; Saitek Rudder Pedals, K-51 Collective

ED Team NineLine Posted January 31, 2012 ED Team Share Posted January 31, 2012 I wonder if they will, I mean really its just a plane being added to the existing environment, a plane that doesnt have anywhere close the internal systems of modern aircraft. I almost bet it will be released outright with patches to follow as with any release... just my hunch. That is true. If they do what they did with A-10C it should be good. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. MemphisBelle
Really? That is very good to hear. I was hoping they didn't regret it. Me too, I was afraid about a negative experience, espacially caused by ppl who haven´t understood that A-10C was a Beta while they complained about everythings instead of reporting. Underleft
Im hoping for a beta too, I feel that the decision to release the Warthog beta resulted in a much better release candidate than it otherwise would have. I agree. I think it's because the SIM community has more knowledge on the subject and cares more about the outcome than beta testers of mainstream games these days. Betas these days seem little more than demos. I was involved with betas as far back as the late 90's (that's far back in game evolution time anyway). Most of them had required feedback sessions. The problem today lies equally with the testers and developers. People try to get into betas just to play it early or see if they like it before buying and the developers facilitate this. Most testers offer no feedback and those who try are left with empty responses from devs. SWTOR was a great example of this. Bugs and issues with that game were brought up 6 months before release and were still present on launch day. Anyway, The Warthog in my opinion was the definition of a beta on both sides. Great feedback and reporting from the testers and superb communication from the developers. It was exactly what betas were designed to be. I think in this community, they would benefit again for an open beta. Edited February 1, 2012 by Underleft
ED Team NineLine Posted February 1, 2012 ED Team Share Posted February 1, 2012 The only reason I would think there isnt going to be a beta is because they stated this was a side product that they decided to release. I am not sure they would spend as much development time on this as they did the A-10. But I could be completely wrong too... either way, this cant come soon enough, beta or full release :) Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
