It's not to bad for a now 2 gen old system, would have been quite high end for it's day.

Hopefully this thread gets moved to PC Hardware and Related Software You will get more feedback there I think with guy's using 980ti's.

My guess, it would be a very good with mid range settings in DCS using the latest beta. Perhaps a few settings on high, like the textures etc. This is only running on a 1080p monitor.

For on a budget, it's not too bad. You'll get decent frames on middle graphics settings. But it won't be "futureproof". It also doesn't say if SSD or HDD, and SSD does tend to make quite a big impression, at least in my experience.

When it comes to getting a new PC I personally recommend just waiting and saving up that little bit more to afford the next best card or RAM. Sure, you might not be able to play DCS this summer, but your next PC may end up being up to date a couple of years longer... and you'll be able to enjoy DCS in full beautiful glory :-D

Not to mention the (in some cases massively) inflated prices at the moment due to the crypto-currency miners spoiling video cards for gamers. Prices are predicted to begin falling again going into 2019.

- 32GB DDR4 2400Mhz

- GTX 1080 8GB

- Installed on SSD

- TM Warthog

The GPU might let you down, but all else looks good.

It's actually pretty good and very high end for that gen, equivalent to around the 1060 6G if not better.

This is a great point. read access to the source material is a must, regardless of where the OS resides.

For what you pay it's a decent deal and it will suffice to play 1080p, maybe 1440p with med-low settings, around like that.

This looks decent for the price your paying for it. It would have definitely rocked DCS World 1.5-2.0.

For DCS 2.5 and OB, You can get away with 60 FPS in mixed settings on 1080p. The 980TI is no slouch, it was my main GPU till I had to RMA and it was replaced with a 1070. It had similar performance to the 1070 in most games.

You should definitely OC the 4770k for more performance. You can upgrade Board, CPU and RAM later when budget allows.

i7 9700k@5.0 Ghz, 32gb DDR4-3200, Maximus XI Formula, Asus Strix GTX 1080ti, 1TB NVMe Samsung 970 Evo, 1TB Samsung 860 Evo Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, TM Warthog, MFG Crosswind Graphite Black, Wheelstandpro Warthog Deluxe V2, TrackIR 5 Pro. Pfffft It's okay but whats the budget, purpose?

CPU is a bit limiting

GPU is a bit limiting

RAM is a bit limiting

Single screen 2K ish res okay.

FWIW

Control is an illusion which usually shatters at the least expected moment.

Gazelle Mini-gun version is endorphins with rotors. See above.

if it's for the same money, sure the better deal, double the cores.

Not sure how a 580 compares to a 980ti, you gotta ask others who run a 580.

You might be able to OC that AMD to 4G or even 4.1G on all cores, that would help and put it like even with a 2700x. Once overclocked they all hit a barrier at 4.2 or 4.3G.

16GB + SSD...ready to go...no.....!

No..1 more thing..only 2 mem slots, you CANNOT expand RAM, you would have to buy 2 x 16GB modules if you want to upgrade to 32GB, you cannot add, only substitute.
