Question - The "World" and New Aircraft Being Added

With the introduction of the new "World" format, will all future aircraft being added have the "Clickable Cockpit" availability?? With the new P-51D, the cockpit is clickable but the Su-25T, which is a transferred aircraft, is not in the same format that I can detect.

No. You can't "convert" an aircraft, if a full study sim module of the SU-25 were to be made it'd be done from the ground up.

DCS isn't limited to study sim level (previous DCS modules), as well as more hardcore modules in the future more survey level modules (like Flaming Cliffs) could be added as well, either by ED or 3rd parties.

The Su-25T and other Aircraft from Lock On are unlikely to be given clickable cockpits or any of the other DCS level treatments.

I'd happily be wrong about this however.

All ED developed aircraft will have clickable pits, advanced flight and damage models, and everything else to be found in the Mustang final release. The МиГ-21 will have a fully clickable pit as well (however the last time I checked the thread the FM was still to be determined). Third party mods however arn't, as far as I know, guaarenteed the same level of quality, or even 3D pits.

Yes to the 2d cockpit unless someone makes a 3d one for them...

But at a guess the same plane models.. No biggie as they're some very nice 3rd party ones out there.

I really hope the planes in FC3 have 3d cockpits. 2D cockpits would be a huge let down.

Just three comments: clouds looks strange, not DCS style. The B-17 texture looks blurry or 'inaccurate'. And look at the FRAPS number up right: '4'. Very low, hum?!

I think I will stick to clickable cockpit planes because its so much easier to NOT remember every keyboard command and just press the freaking button!

the su25T for that reason was complete SH*T! don't give a damn about textures because they are fine with the HD pack but having to learn every keyboard command is not worth it for me!

I know the A-10 and soon the P51 and after that hopefully the F/A 18

I've set up the Su-25T to mimic the Warthogs Hotas on my joystick - no need to memorize the keyboard.

Instead of keyboards, just successively add items to your joystick/HOTAS as you find use for them. I find that that method works a lot better than trying to cram every single command in at once. Makes it natural to learn what does what.

If you can learn the Hog, working out commands for the T-frog is easy, in my opinion.

As was said, HOTAS. I've ignored the Su-25T since forever since when given the choice, I prefer fighters, but as the Su-25 is the only flyable in DCS World, I've gotten use to it. I don't even have my X52 configured, so I can't even switch modes to make triple use of my buttons. Still, memorizing controls wasn't a big deal as most of them fit on the HOTAS.

Ah, OK. Anyway, there is still a will to add aircrafts in the 'World'. And this could greatly improve the construction of missions (Imagine an escort mission of B-17 by P-51d to a destination, then Me-109 or FW-190 come to intercept...)

I'd be first in line to buy them up...I'd even pay for it right now ..already have some great mission idea's..oh by the way the " VTA-Server " is up and running since 7am this morning..
