Speed
"Follow" and "Escort" work exactly as they sound. You can even specify offset directions from the aircraft being followed/escorted. Just be advised... these actions probably do not work on multiplayer clients. Known issue. Intelligent discourse can only begin with the honest admission of your own fallibility. Ripcord
This is really going to be a cool feature for AI. Will be nice to have a HAVCAP AI flight to escort AWACS. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Erforce
it's not going, it's already done ! AMAZING featureS !!!! i wanted it so hard ! It's the first time ED implement some kind of real packages like in Falcon4 Now you can set easily (did i said easily?) - Rendez-Vous point with another package - Fly coordinates and formation with others packages - ESCORT packages with radius protection, actually 4x Attacking SU-30 VS 4x Defending F15-E + Awacs = USA wins 4-0 - Break formation waypoint, or infinite following until out of gas==> H.A.V.C.A.P. do it or die trying ! Applications : HAVCAP..... :smartass: SEAD ESCORT / SEAD STRIKE :thumbup::thumbup: CAS Packages + Escort and much more !!! Love it ! Druid_
Hello Anyone downloaded DCS:World 1.2.1 yet and investigated these tasks in the ME? I'd hate to add up the number of hours I've spent with these new actions. It was time well spent and full credit goes to the Dev responsible for coding it. There are a few small issues but if you keep it fairly simple then it works fine. They will be very useful to mission builders especially for those who want different aircraft types to fly in tight or loose formation which wasn't previously possible. Just to add, there is no 'escort' action for helicopters only planes (who are set to ESCORT or SEAD task), but helicopers will assist by engaging targets when set to 'follow'. Plane AI will only leave the formation and engage targets within a set radius when set to 'escort'. If set to 'follow' they remain with the lead. Blacknemisis
Ive tried to make a mission using this but it doesnt work for me. Do I need to make waypoints for the other flights or not. My other flights just run there route and comes back to base.
Grimes
Hmm, it might depend on when the order to follow/escort is given. You should be able to have one flight with 1 or 2 waypoints and tell it to follow another flight that actually has a flight plan. The stop waypoint is simply when the AI will stop following. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. My other flights just run there route and comes back to base. You don't need any waypoints on the follow flight although you could have and place the follow action at a later waypoint if desired. Without your miz file its hard to say what you are doing wrong but there's some here you can look at. upupandaway
Well, my UH-60A just hung there in the air and did absolutely nothing when I placed the waypoint action, but I didn´t really look further into it after the first try. Too busy looking at beautiful aircraft... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Deedle, deedle!
