Default Pete Bonnanies Falcon 3.0 book was great on systems and tactics.

Though more then 20 years old, Falcon 3.0 guide Pete Bonnani was fantastic for systems and tactics. Just try not to mind the 1980's bushy mustache, and jock-strap attitude. But energy management in F-16C was excellent. Falcon 3.0 covered F-16C Block 30 as flown by Virginia ANG. Falcon 4.0 (not BMS) covered F-16C Block 42/50/50 CCIP.

I'm too analog,

I would love to have a nice 400-500 pages hardcover DCS-Viper manual like the old Falcon 4.0 one.

Vipers in the Storm would be much better if half the book wasn't filler. His first flight in Desert Storm isn't until half way through the book. You can literately skip the first half of the book and not miss anything.

F-16 Fighting Falcon Units of Operation Iraqi Freedom
OSPREY Publishing COMBAT AIRCRAFT 61
Author: Doug Dildy, Steve Davies

Very good ... and also for me: Falcon 4.0 manual. I was lucky enough to have bought it back in 1998 and it is still a reference for those who want to know more about the Viper. By the way, this manual can be found in pdf format on the internet.

I am fortunate to have the Falcon 4 binder edition, which is an excellent manual. The BMS manuals are also some great reads and worth printing for those that love the feel of paper.

Remember Allied Force? There is a 700+ page tome written for it. Check out: http://www.f-16.net/downloads_file11.html

While it is written for the sim, it does a good job breaking down systems, tactics, etc. Worth the download, IMHO.

Most have referenced the good books out there for the Viper. I was able to get a copy of Eye of the Viper from an online thrift store. Getting ready to read it in a few. I think I will skip Viper Pilot based on recommendations.

Cheers,

You guys should pick up Spectre Rising by C.W. Lemoine. He's got a great podcast/YT channel, and has flown both the Hornet and F16.

He's done some videos on DCS and had Wags on his podcast as well, definitely worth our community's support, plus IMO until his Spectre Rising book there hasn't been a great fiction book with F16s in it since Red Phoenix.
