Default How do I use autopilot?

I think this issue is localized to me, and I can't figure out the issue.

I can't get any of the autopilot features to work properly.

I set the heading with the HDG switch and I see the mark on the HSI. but the HSEL doesn't work at all. Aircraft does not go for the heading even though HSEL is set up. I will have my aircraft perfectly trimmed, turn it on, and it doesn't go to the heading.

With BALT/RALT, I will be flying steady, not touching the stick, and press them but they never turn on. Some times the MFD will say BALT but the two lights dont show up and its not actually holding altitude, it will slowly climb up.

I do a proper INS alignment(I Think). Go from CV/GRN to countdown to .5 (OK) and switch to NAV. So I am not sure what I am missing. I have tried setting ATT to INS/AUTO/STBY, I have tried setting INS to NAV/Gyro, IFA. I can't figure out why none of my autpilot settings work.

It used to work but these last few patches it hasn't. I have done a repair and still no luck.

FWIW I have never had heading mode work.

I can confirm HSEL works. On UFC, press AP, then HSEL, the colon appears next to HSEL and the HDG switch steers the plane.

OP, have you tried them with airstart? And the boilerplate suggestion to make sure there are absolutely no control inputs when selecting an AP mode (and verify this because even the tiniest input will make it not work).

Give your stick a 2% deadzone on the X and Y axis
