Default Vulcan - Stensil mesh optimization VR

Dear ED gurus.

Will you try to do Stensil-mesh to optimize (perhaps up to 30%) how much is rendered with the new engine?
I'm not sure whether this is a very specific method that only applies to forward rendering or other scenarios though.

I'm quite clueless on the technique, but on foil it seems like a good idea.

(The stensil mesh optimization at 57:52 minutes roughly.

For the rest of us, the start is interesting on learning a bit on how VR is rendered, at 6:02:
