The Red nation has set up 4 x EWR stations between Sochi and Sukhumi along the coastline. In addition, 2 x SAM SA-2 batteries were installed east and west of Gudauta. Destroying the EWR stations would blind any Red interceptors and make it even harder for Red to sink the Stennis. There are 12 x MiG-21's available at Sochi, 6 x MiG-28's at Gudauta and additional 6 x MiG-28's at Sukhumi, making a total of 24 x MiG's forming the wave of aerial defence against the Tomcats. Note: The airbases Senaki, Kutaisi, Kobuleti and Batumi are also Red, but only for rearming and refueling. Remember, it's the Red nation that is under attack, so no matter where the MiG's go, they are flying over friendly territory. - All airbases are surrounded by multiple AAA units. - In addition, each airbase has one SAM SA-8 OSA unit. Red Objective: Destroy the Stennis! The enemy's aircraft carrier is exactly 175 km bearing 180 from Sochi, marking the bullseye. The ship was sent alone with 6 x Tomcats on deck. To get to the ship, we might need to shoot down the F-14's first. Remember though, the aircraft carrier Stennis is the target and not the Tomcats. GCI: 2 x GCI operators are available. - For MiG-21's the GCI operates on 124 MHz. - For MiG-28's the GCI operates on 277 MHz. Blue Objective: Blind the enemy by destroying all 4 EWR stations. Be adviced of possible AAA's by the EWR's. No IR SAM's/MANPAD's. - Waypoint 1 is the first EWR (east of Sochi airbase) - Waypoint 2 is the second EWR (west of Gudauta airbase) - Waypoint 3 is the third EWR station (east of Gudauta airbase) - Waypoint 4 is the fourth EWR station (north of Skuhumi airbase) - Waypoint 5 is the egress point, bullseye. - Waypoint 6 is 7 miles east of the Stennis (the carrier is facing west, 270) The enemy has installed 2 x SAM SA-2 batteries. One is between Sochi and Gudauta airbases. And one is between Gudauta and Skuhumi airbases. Both SAM groups might be mobile and change their position (check out the briefing images to know where they are at mission's start). GCI: 1 x GCI operator on 266 MHz. Weapons' Restrictions: Red: All weapons are allowed, except for the nuke bombs. However, there are only 40 pieces of each air-to-air missile type at every airbase. Air-to-ground weapons are limited to 100 pieces each. Blue: Available air-to-air missiles: AIM-9L: 72 x pieces. 12 for each Tomcat. AIM-7M: 24 x pieces. 4 for each Tomcat. AIM-54A-MK47: 12 x pieces. 2 for each Tomcat. Air-to-Ground weapons are all available and limited to 100 pieces each, except for the ADM-141A's, where a total of 12 is allowed. Notes: - The event lasts for 2 hours. - Red wins if the Stennis is destroyed in less than 2 hours. - Blue wins if all 4 EWR stations are destroyed and the Stennis is kept alive. - The 104th squadron will be flying the 6 Tomcats introducing 12 pilots of their members. - Players can either sign up for the MiG-21 or the MiG-28. - Even if all slots are taken, you can sign up for the reserve list so we can surely have 24 MiG's. - 3 GCI operators are needed. I'll hop in if needed. LotATC is not a must, but is preferred. - Each pilot has 1 life. - Sign up using the following format: Alpenwolf - MiG-21. I believe the range of those is 10-15 km. It fires one missile at a time. If you fly well and use your countermeasures properly, you should be able to defeat the incoming missile. So far 15 MiG pilots have signed up, so currently it's 3 to 4 F-14's. The more MiG pilots we have (24 max, but could add more slots), the more F-14's will fly to oppose them. We still have almost 2 weeks to go, so I hope we'll get the numbers. S!
