I am locked at 45 as well (CV1) . Despite ctrl+numberpad or "ASW off" with Oculus debug open . Weird !

Yep me too with the CV1. I can turn off ASW with the keyboard shortcuts or the debug tool and see it working, but my frames are locked at 45 or 30/22 if I drop too low.

May have already been mentioned but if I turn V-sync on in game it seems to lock my FPS to 45.

Question for those who play with asw off, do you experience ghosting or double images of buildings and ground textures when flying above?. I can't seem to find a happy middle ground . Asw on i get the artefacts, asw off i get ghosting.

How are you disabling ASW ? I do so via the Oculus debug tool . Open debug "ASW"-Disabled . Leave open & then start Oculus . (Incidentally , i also disable "adaptive gpu graphics performance) .

No artifacts , no ghosting .

Yes I fly with ASW off and do not get the artifacts/ghosting.

I set it using the ott and leave this running then start oculus. I am able to switch between the 2 ingame via right control num1-4.

Like Ive mentioned Asw on I see the infamous artifacts, with it off everthying outside of the cockpit seems to blur/ghost when I look around. I normally play with it on for this reason. Everything seems much smoother except the dodgy artifacts.

Clearly Im doing something wrong, I've tried disabling hyperthreading, setting cpu affinitys, turning off intel boost, upgraded Ram.

Adjusting all settings nothing seems to alter it, I'll check the adaptive gpu settings, maybe thats it.

Do you gents adjust the in game ipd by chance?

I have it unchecked, I think its the only setting I've not tinkered with.

Rift S user and locked at either 27 or 40 FPS depending on what's being rendered. Running high settings on a 2080Ti. GPU utilization seems lower than it should be most of the time. I'd say 50-70%. So it certainly seems something is limiting the FPS.

Vsync off both in game and NVidia CP. Using OTT to turn off ASW and the debug tool still shows it's on Auto. I turn it off with the Debug tool. Game profiles don't seem to work for me in the OTT. Going to update to 86.1 tonight and see what happens. I also find that if I close Oculus Home and restart it, the debug tool will show that ASW is once again at auto.

So I start Oculus Home first, and then the debug tool and set ASW to disabled.

None the less, while in the GUI menu I can see really high FPS up to 80, but once in sim, 40 is it, maybe the occasional 41 before it locks back down to 40. In high render situations, cities ect and on the ground it's at 27. Not 30, but 27. So I guess 27 is new the 30 for the 80Hz Rift S.

It's quite annoying to know I've got an expensive GPU (or two) and it's not being fully utilized. My CPU is also not being fully pegged, I'd say it's running 60-70% on the cores using DCS and none of them are being capped. I'm using Process Lasso to lock it down and Afterburner to monitor. I've tried all sorts of setting changes. No dice. To me it really seems like ASW disabled isn't really, like it just goes to the 45 ASW off no matter what you tell it.

Running the public test channel for Occulus, latest Nvidia drivers.

i9 9900x @ 4.5Ghz with 64 GB @ XMP 3600

In 2D on triple 27" 1440p monitors 7680x1440 I'm getting 50-60 FPS or better and my GPU shows 95% utilization.

Weird . I have to do the reverse to make debug settings stick . Open debug , adaptive graphics off , asw disabled , and then open Oculus .

Hmm I don't know why its acting differently. I just verified it though. If I open Debug and make the changes, and then open Oculus Home, ASW is most certainly on. In the GUI it's locked at 40 flat. In sim it performs horribly.

If I close the debug tool and reopen it after starting Oculus, the settings are back to Auto. I have to start Oculus first and then open and modify the debug tool.

I think I know what you mean, it’s just the frame jumping from one to the next due to the lower frame rate. This is actually pretty much what ASW is designed to alleviate, which it does nicely. The trade off for this is of course the artefacting.

Hopefully ED will implement support for ASW 2.0, which is supposed to greatly reduce the artefacts.

Yes exactly, when I read of others always playing with asw off and saying everything is smooth I wonder what I've missed, either something is limiting my system or their tolerance for smooth is not the same as mine.

Not alot of info is available on asw 2.0 implementation on the developers front at least not from my searching since oculus released it, we can only hope ED are looking at this also with all of their other wip projects.

For some reason, I seem to be locked at 45fps in game. I always have ASW off due to the artefacts, but it still seems to cap at 45. It will hold a steady 45, dropping just below from time to time under heavy loads, but never wants to exceed 45, even when I would expect it to (like looking at sky or out to sea). In the menu, I get 90 and sometimes drops to 70 or 80.

I use oculus tray tool to turn off ASW. It’s set to off, rather than the 45fps option. Also of note, it seems Ctrl+1 and ctrl+4 no longer works to turn ASW on/off...

Thoughts?

I launched the game yesterday to test out turning off oculus aa settings within oculus home and forgot to launch ott or the debug tool at all. To my suprise right control num1-4 still worked when I tried to switch between asw modes, I've never been able to toggle without launching these prior to oculus home before maybe something has changed on oculus home in regards to this.

As for frame lock have you tried everything at min settings as a test to see if it will crack 45 in game?

Ctrl numpad works again, I actually came to the conclusion that it no longer works when OTT is open, but works fine otherwise.

It was when I did some testing awhile back, turning all settings to lowest then working up, that I found this problem. Even lowest settings, 45fps...
