Want the throttle.

Curious... I understand the excitement over the throttle; me too. Why aren't people getting equally hyped about the grip? Because you make do with a Warthog or Virpil Mongoos or whatever?

I'm excited about the whole setup!

I can’t speak for everyone, but, realistically, it seems pretty unlikely that (to my knowledge) a newcomer will be able to touch VirPil’s or VKB’s bases any time soon. Building a throttle, however, is another story.

Not knocking VKB and Virpil's excellent bases at all, but this does not look like a half arsed amateur hour effort to me...

I think its great to have choices, and want the throttle. I would also buy dedicated harrier and F-14 throttle. I purchased Virpil because of the compatibility with TM, the ability to use the A-10/F-16 stick on a better base. I don't want a proprietary base. Now that TM has (freakin finally) released the F-18 stick it is another option for the bases I already have. Just my thoughts, hopefully the powers that be will relent on the requirement to buy the whole package. Still evaluating if paying $800 for "just" the throttle is worth it to me for the added fidelity.

Clear and understandable explanation. Yes - the modified P/S 2 interface the Thrustmaster / Virpil ecosystems does give you more options for interchangeability without spending $200-300 on new bases everytime.

On the $800 all in Winwing solution, I think you may get your wish... it sounds like they are open minded to sell the throttle separately in the future... just not on release as they are currently all geared up for satisfying demand for the whole HOTAS setup. It certainly makes their warehouse / logistics easier. But be patient and keep on at them to see the throttle separately!

No infos about sending test devices to public testers?

Yeah, I agree that it would be nice to have some reviews before preorder date. But I expect I will wing it and preorder anyway. So you might get an independent mini-review from me. At least I can guarantee objectivity as I will have paid using my own funds and have no influence on me from the manufacturer.

On their website the desktop clamping system looks very flimsy. I don't think it will hold up.

 

 

It is different that the robust ones shown in their videos.

It's very common for folks to ditch the www. So I'm sure quite a few of us were trying wingwing.cn.

But it doesn't run on port 80. If you type in http://www.winwing.cn it'll work.

If want to forgo the www, you have to type winwing.cn:8282

I am still unable to access the website, either with www or without. This is quite important if the company wants to be taken seriously. Accessibility and customer support are as important to me as the actual product itself, if the company cannot fix this then how can the customers be assured that they will be attended to properly when/if any issue arises?

I have no problem accessing the site. However I am getting a "not secure" flag on the website. Maybe your security settings are preventing you from accessing it?

Winwing: what can be done about your website? I will find it a deal breaker to conduct a financial transaction / give financial information over a non https website. Is this being handled by a third party or are you upgrading your website to provide a secure connection?
