Here is my first campaign over the Persian Gulf using Mbot DCE :) :

The situation :

Iran is becoming more and more aggressive in Persian Gulf. Iranian's islands are more and more fortified and soon they will become very dangerous for any ship trying to cross the Gulf. South gulf countries asked US to prevent a complete blocade of this area.

The US Air Force has sent considerable forces to UEA in support of the operation. At the forefront are the F-15C Eagles of the 58th Tactical Fighter Squadron who are tasked to attain air superiority and protect coalition strike aircraft against the Iranian Air Force with the help of the 1/12 Cambresis Squadron with the French Mirage 2000C. The brunt of daylight attack falls on the F-16C of the 17th Tactical Fighter Squadron, helped by the 1/12 Cambresis and supported by F/A-18C. Attack during the night is carried out by the F-15E Strike Eagles of the 335th Tactical Fighter Squadron, who are looking forward to the types combat debut. Of considerable interest to the USAF is the deployment of the F-117A Nighthawk stealth bomber with the 417th Tactical Fighter Squadron. The USAF contingent is completed by a deployment of E-3A Sentry from the 7th Airborne Command and Control Squadron. Together these squadrons form a powerful and mighty force.

The Iranian Air Force is flying a mix of MiG-29A, F-14A, F-4E and F-5E-3 fighters directed by ground based early warning radar. Air bases and target complexes of high value are protected by a variety of surface-air missile systems, such as the Hawk system, the SA-6 Gainful, the SA-8 Gecko, as well as short-range IR-SAMs and AAA. As part of the coalition air offensive, the US Air Force is tasked with neutralizing the Iranian Air Force, both in the air and on the ground, as well as destroying Iranian airbases.

(Put them in Users/Name/saved games/Dcs.OpenBeta/Liveries/M-2000C, AJS-37, f-4e, f-14a, KC-135MRPS and Su-24M folders to create if you don't have them yet)

You need to use OvGME (https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3594613&postcount=29) or JSGME (https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=98607). The "DCE over PG-Mods" folder provided will also modify MissionScripting.lua file in "DCS World OpenBeta\Scripts", preventing you to make this modification manually after each update :

Not needed anymore with OvGME or JSGME Mods Folder !!! ============ Open the file "DCS World OpenBeta\Scripts\MissionScripting.lua". Add two minus signs in front of line 16 "sanitizeModule('os')" and line 17 "sanitizeModule('io')". The code block from line 16 to line 20 should then look like this:

--sanitizeModule('os')

--sanitizeModule('io')

sanitizeModule('lfs')

require = nil

loadlib = nil

This modification has to be repeated after each update of DCS World, as each update reverts the file back to its original state.

WARNING: This modification will allow the execution of LUA code included in any downloaded custom mission that is potentially harmful to your system. Modification at your own risk. ====== Not needed anymore with OvGME or JSGME Mods Folder !!!

Installation:

-------------

1. Extract the folder "EN" in the zip file to: "DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\M-2000C\Missions". Ensure that the resulting folder structure is “...\M-2000C\Missions\EN\Campaigns\Mirage over PG-Multirole\...”.

2. Extract the "Mirage over PG-Mods" folder in your Mods OvGME or JSGME folder then activate this mod.

How to play:

------------

1. To start a new campaign, select CAMPAIGN from the DCS main menu. Select the campaign under the module “M-2000C” and press OK.

2. To restart a new campaign, likewise select RESTART.

3. After completing a mission, a txt file will open automatically in Windows Notepad, providing a debriefing. If you are done reading, close the text window manually.

4. Simultaneously a command window will open, asking you whether you would like to accept the current mission results. If you are happy with the mission results, press “y” and ENTER. The next campaign mission will then be generated. If you are unhappy with the mission results, press “n” and ENTER. No new mission will be generated and you may fly the current mission again.

Special Functions:

------------------

This campaign is fully playable from within the DCS GUI with no further user action required. It however offers two additional functions through BAT files located in the folder “DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\M-2000C\Missions\EN\Campaigns\Mirage over PG-Multirole”.

1. FirstMission.bat: In order to integrate this dynamic campaign with the DCS GUI, the first campaign mission has to be static. This means that each time you start a new campaign, the first mission will always be the same. If you would like to change the first mission to something new, use this BAT file to generate a different one. This BAT file will also reset any campaign progress you may have back to zero.

2. SkipMission.bat: If you are unhappy with the current (not first) campaign mission, use this BAT file to skip it and generate a new one.

COOP Multiplayer:

-----------------

1. This campaign is playable in multiplayer for up to 4 players.

2. To start a new coop campaign, execute “FirstMission.bat” under “DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\M-2000C\Missions\EN\Campaigns\Mirage over PG-Multirole”, select Multiplayer and press ENTER. Then follow menus to select main planes player number and a second type of friendly planes you would like your friends to fly in the same package ...

3. Host the mission “Mirage over Caucasus-Fighter_first.miz” (if it is the first mission of the campaign) or “Mirage over PG-Multirole_ongoing.miz” found in the folder "DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\M-2000C\Missions\EN\Campaigns" like any other multiplayer mission.

4. In order to end a mission, review the debriefing and automatically generate the next campaign mission, close your server. Hosts are advised to end missions after completing the assigned sortie. The campaign is not designed for rearming your aircraft and returning to the combat zone, as enemy activity is only set up for the planned duration of one sortie and a little extra. Closing the server and hosting the next generated mission will provide you with a fully set up new mission with all stats carried over.

FAQ:

----

Q: Why are my FPS so low?

A: Due to its very nature, this dynamic campaign includes many aircraft and ground units. Lower graphics settings than usual might be required to play it smoothly. With reduced graphics settings, missions should be easily playable on medium systems.Prune script should solve most of this problem

Q: Why do missions take so long to generate?

A: This is due to a large amount of calculations to find the optimal route for every possible sortie, even if only a few of these sorties will ultimately be part of the missions. Sorties are selected based among other factors on their danger level, for whose evaluation the optimal route must be known. Expect to wait half a minute for a new mission to be generated.

Q: Why are there no loadouts with cluster bombs?

A: The AI has issues with employing cluster bombs. If you would like to use them on your aircraft, reload them after spawning on the airbase.

Q: Why do AGM-45 Shrike ARM sometimes disappear mid-air?

A: In 7 out of 10 ARM missile shots, a script will force the targeted ground unit to shut down its radar for several minutes, to avoid the incoming missile. In such cases the ARM is removed from the game to prevent it from striking the silenced radar none the less.

Ohh awesome!! I'll mod it to work with F/A-18C instead of Mirage as well.

I'll also plug my pruning script again, works just fine with this campaign and greatly helps with the FPS problems:

https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3525106&postcount=753

EDIT: OMG those F-14s are lethal with those AIM-54s!

Nice

I will add your F/A-18C version of this campaign to the DCE campaign post if you want to help all F/A-18C drivers to find it :)

I confirm that F-14 are really dangerous at long range for me too :music_whistling:
