twistking
Never heard of it. ED normally uses their own home-grown tech for their home-grown engine. it's more of a technique, not a tech you would buy in. it's related to ray-tracing, but instead of using it for actual rendering and therefore tracing from light source to camera, just a few rays get marched through the volume (cloud) only to determine brightness of the cloud. There are some games out already with extremely nice looking clouds, that use some form of raymarching. One particularly fine looking example even on console. Also that new Microsoft aviation game will use it too... That being said: The screenshot from ED looks very, very promising - regardless of the tech they use. I'm just curious how they do it... It's actually quite trivial to create if you know how the system works. The problem is that the toolset for creating it in-editor is non-existent — it all has to be done using external tools. Hence why I'm so quick on harping on about why the toolset is more important than the effect itself. ;) ❧ ❧ Inside you are two wolves. One cannot land; the other shoots friendlies. Those that cannot "hack" early access and what it entails are indeed better off waiting until the final product is out. How long it will be in EA 2 years 3 Years maybe 5, how many another EA modules release before finishing F18. So what will be next SC and f18 dev again move to SC module. Now in stable they add F16 and F18 still have no crucial features (A/G radar, TWS , pod hud symbology ). So when we can expect "final product" before Hind or after P-47. 303 & Friends discord Hangar : JF-17 Thunder, F-16C Viper, I-16, Christen Eagle II, F-14 Tomcat, Supercarrier, WWII Assets Pack, F/A-18C Hornet, AJS-37 Viggen, Spitfire LF Mk.
