Su-33 PFM

Right... just wondering why people are asking "if anyone has already tested it"? ... and other people said they did.... ?!

Since zeeman90 asked if anyone tested it I chimed in with what little was released in the 1.5.7 update that could be toyed with. No secret patch, no overactive imagination, and no inside information. Just using what we were all given to let him know that, as of right now, the update didn't include a fix for exploding on touchdown. :smilewink:

It may work but maybe your DCS install could take damage without ED integrating it properly into the sim?

Yep, been monitoring that reddit thread myself. Only thing holding me off trying it is the same concern. What happens when next update is released..am I then in a need repair prior to update state....hmm...so tempting.

Is this from a source within ED or is it from a team that has separate developed su33 flight model?

I think it's the magic provided by ED's own Yo-Yo.

It has been left in the DCS files by ED and all I did with my mod was enabling it. Obviously not done yet but it's still tons better than the SFM.

somebody tried to land on a moving carrier with the new PFM? (all the times I tried with the old FM I just exploded so I stopped trying). After the touchdown the plane is like moving backwards, but it's because the carrier is moving and the plane is stopped, there is just no connection between the carrier and the plane. Is this a known bug or just the new pfm that is still a wip?

we have been experiencing this with the dcs helicopters for looong years.

deck landing on moving ships = death

Don't expect everything to be working as intended right now with the PFM, it wasnt meant to be released at this time, and still a WIP.

My experiences with the PFM and the carrier are that this has been fixed, but I dont know if that will translate to what is public right now.

Since I've had some time with this "leaked" (?) PFM as well, I've noticed that you can "carrier trap" even when only landing at the areas just short of the RWY threshold at Nellis AFB. Just be sure to have your hook down and be sure to land within the areas with the yellow chevrons before the actual runway. Curious if that's intended for testing - or a glitch that's already been known?

Thank you for the sneak peak, it flies and feels much better than old sfm model.

carrier landings are challenging now.

for a sneak peak it is satisfying.

Aircraft performs just like shown on the real video. in the screenshot, my position is little higher but on my other attempts, i noticed that the pfm(wip) allows to perform it lower as shown on the real video.

Thank you Ebabil!

The new PFM isn't even a WIP in public - it's a hack using a file E.D. didn't intend to be used at this point.

The plane moving backwards on a moving carrier will not be an issue when the PFM is released.

(oops, thread moved while I had it open and was snipped)

Will helicopters be fixed too with it?
