I hope that the sound of the F-5E module is the actual aircraft fairly faithful.

There really should be a Mig-28 filter in this whole DCS: F-5E Tiger II Forum.

Everyone thinks they are the first one to say it.

Wait the Mikoyan-i-Gurevich Design Bureau never made a Mig-28?

Weird, oh wait those are F-5Es. Those trickers.

Nope those arent F5s.

thier mig28s, its ok dont feel bad for mistake, its very a common misconception. :smartass:

Why?

Soviet union had F5E provided from the North vietnam when they overan the south in 1975.

they evaluated it, and were very impressed by it. they then used its significant design aspects to create a next gen fighter called the Mig28, which is why it closely resembles the F5. So yes Mikoyan Design Bureu did technically design the Mig28 even if its arguably closer to a reverse- engineered F5, with newer avioncis. It went into Service Circa 1981-82, but didnt officially revealed to the west until USN F14 tomcats encountered it in the Pacific the year of 1986, and had a few small skirmishes against it. It even surprised observers that it could fly inverted!!!!!

Not too many people know these facts. mig28 is quickly forgotten amongst more iconic russian 4th gen fighters like the su27 or Mig29

anyways hopes that clears your confusion up, explains why you or possibly anyone else who may have mistook Mig28's for the american F5E tiger 2 .

This!!!

I hate when people comes to a sim forum and talks about one of the worst recreations of a jet fighter pilot's life...

And BTW, can't wait for the video that Wags said he will release today...

Clearly you guys haven't hung out with any real pilots. We pretty much quote that movie daily as it is...

Oh, and get over it. Let people have their fun... Lighten up, Francis

Wait! We need a HUD to fly?

I thought we need at least one engine, a pair of wings, a pair of horizontal stabs and a vertical stab to fly :O
