SkateZilla Posted September 8, 2016 Share Posted September 8, 2016 The Aircarft was Visually Restored, -They Stripped the Old Flaking Paint Off, -They Cut Off , Sanded Off, or Torched off any broken/rusted pieces of Material. -Repaired all Surfaces after removing rusted/corroded pcs -Primed -Painted -Opened Canopy -Placed Window Sticker on the Inside. FDVG has done at least 4 Tomcat Restorations this last 18 months alone that I have seen. Dino Might Posted September 8, 2016 Share Posted September 8, 2016 For a minute, I read this as, "the plane has been restored to flight status and will fly in the upcoming airshow." I just about soiled my pants and was getting ready to buy tickets and request leave. Then I realized how that perception was really generated by my desire. This is not to take away from the restoration work that was done, which is awesome! I wish more groups would be allowed to do this type of work and take it on. F14s on every street corner, I say! If I could have one of the airframes sitting in a boneyard, I would buy a house with enough of a yard to place it in and spend all my free time restoring it.
