[ALL MODULES][SP/CO-OP] Liberation Dynamic Campaign

Recommended Posts

-How can I have the carrier group and the airfield flight to operate at the same mission? I can spawn my group from the carrier with strike package and escort, but I want the airfield strike group and escort to be part in the same mission?

Not at the moment. In the next version there will be the ability to start the mission from any airfield or carrier in proximity, but still not from multiple ones simultaneously.

-How can I command my wingman to attack a strike target? I tried everything, but he would never actually do an attack run. Comms are working.

I haven't found both reliable and easy way for AI to strike ground targets, so this remains unimplemented, sadly.

However, when it comes to the generation of the campaign and you then choose the mission made in DCS, I have no option to select any of "my" planes at all.

I am not able to select any of the "blue" areas by clicking on it, no menues are popping up.

It only shows me to select the AWACS, none of my modules are showing up.

It further says that the main DCS 1.5 x is the version.

Am I correct assuming that when you load the mission there's no planes to pick and you start as observer? Have you set the values in the second column of the scramble menu. It specify amount of client slots available. Also, are you playing on DCS 1.5? I haven't tested it on anything but latest DCS, and I highly doubt that it would work on version that old.

Hey bud, noticed a pretty big bug in Attacking Guadata to Sukhumi. I'm unable to add any tanks in BASE ATTACK mission. The mission just doesn't want to compile. We think its because its trying to spawn tanks in water (guadata is close to the shore).

What do you mean "doesn't want to compile"? Error popup? If so I'd want to see what it tells in the error log. Mission doesn't load in DCS? DCS has no problems with spawning tanks at the bottom of the ocean, so that's likely not the case.

-in Caucasus: please make sure red side is using red planes only. No need for M2000 or F5 for the Russians in Caucasus

The problem with M2Ks and F5s on the red side is the absence of playable airframes to fill the budget categories. Like, you have Flanker and Fulcrum, but those are more modern ones, high-end even, but what about the lows? Fishbed is pretty much the only thing. Mid-range? I can't even think of one. And if you take in addition that not every player owns the whole aircraft collection, the problem becoming even worse.

I could think of option of separating those two lists between player and AI (so that AI would use aircraft more appropriate to the side), but I doubt that would be high on development priority list.

-Replace the C101s in the biginnig of the campaign with L-39 or even better, MiG-21s.

Yeah, thanks, I planned to do that a while ago but always forgot about it. IIRC c101 doesn't even carry weapons for the few first missions.

-Allow to set up flights from differend airport/boats to attack the same target (e.g. CAP flight from the Stennis and strike pack from Airbase)

As stated previously in this response - I doubt this would be a possibility in the observable future, sadly.

Hi all , its possible to edit option for multiplayer missions? Like uncheck LABELS :P!

There's a Configuration menu, there should be option for labels. I don't remember if it's in the current version, if it's not - it will be in the next release.

When i starting a mission, the ground units from enemy and from blue side is not deployed.

I started a forntline attack, waypoints are in hsi, but no units or enemy vehicles deployed.

im on openbeta latest build.

I need details. Mostly mission direction and strength of the attacked base. Also there's an option to get the logs from the application, those will also be really helpful in determining what happened, also miz file is great too.

(can i update the loadout for the planes? because flir and mavD is still on the hornet9

The simplest way is to edit the miz files before loading, or asking ground crew to change the loadout. To change them in the application itself you can refer to the modding guide, there's a guide specifically for changing the default loadouts (although it's pretty limited TBH).

-thx, I see

too bad, but I see why

sorry, I was unclear in my statement: I clearly meant the AI fighters. If you choose to play red, then yes, but if I fly blue and my escort is F-5s, enemy F-5s make a big mess in planes without IFF (Harrier, A-10,F-5)

Dont deployed ground units

Thanks for your reply!

I made the mistake.

I placed more user slots. Example: i put 4 user slot but we flyed just 3.

But we need all the user slots be in the air to push the trigger.

Or i can edit the trigger, in mission editor, put in between the triggered units an “OR”. Then working.

Thanks again for your work!

Weapon loadut we made through rearm panel.

Oh, yeah, that's known issue. I still haven't thought of reliable way to get around this.

Trying to setup a Base Attack from Al Minhad to Dubai International. I can do all other mission types from the same start location, attacking Dubai, without issue. But when I try to setup a Base Attack, it throws this error code, and will not compile the mission.

Also, would be awesome if we could have the option of a 130 over the S3, as well as having a JTAC.

You've probably missed something during python installation, or haven't extracted the zip prior to starting the bat file.

Hello, I have a question! Is it possible to increase the size of the mission briefing window (Pyhton)?

Not ATM. What's the problem with the current fixed size?

Yeah, it does that in the current release. Sorry, no way to fix for now - wait for the next release, where the fix for this will be included. For now the best option would be to play on different map.

Where's your DCS user folder? I assume it's not on the "C:\Users\Erab\Saved Games"?

Do you mean the folder of DCS itself or something else?

And if I find it, do I need to move it? If so, where?

You've probably missed something during python installation, or haven't extracted the zip prior to starting the bat file.

Not ATM. What's the problem with the current fixed size?

Yeah, it does that in the current release. Sorry, no way to fix for now - wait for the next release, where the fix for this will be included. For now the best option would be to play on different map.

HI there in python shel i get that

I mean the folder where your configuration and save files reside. Usually it's in user folder, under Saved Games. Having your Saved Games in different (than user folder) location could cause problems (but could be fixed by editing the bat file).

The better way would be to open the bat file in the cmd.exe and see what the output is. The python shell that you've posted displays nothing wrong, except that it misses two required launch arguments (if you run it trough .bat file they would be provided by it).

What do I put in the bat file if my folder is in let's say D drive?

There's a section in troubleshooting guide related to this: https://github.com/shdwp/dcs_liberation/wiki/Troubleshooting#my-saved-games-is-on-the-different-drive-so-application-wont-generate-any-missions

Generally speaking you should replace the first argument to the folder containing "DCS" user directory.

hello, if I'm not wrong, you have to edit the db.py file inside dcs liberation \ game \. In that file I think that all the information of the planes and to which side (and to which missions) belong. Hope this can help you.

Can someone help me remove aircraft from the campaign? I wanna create a 70s kind of campaign like area 88 with only mig 15 and mig 21 and a couple bombers. I've tried using the manual but I can't make heads or tails of it.

Check out the modding guide: https://github.com/shdwp/dcs_liberation/wiki/Modding-tutorial

It only covers adding the planes, but reading trough that would give you the idea on how to remove them as well.

Regarding the AV-8B during carrier ops.

Anyone else have issues with wingmen smashing into you while you're powering up your aircraft?

Me :).

I didn't find a way for them to not do that. I do the simplest thing - spawn two of them on the parking spots of the deck. It kinda feels like the rest is on Razbam.

Being a mission editor moron, (okay, even without the mission editor) how would I do that?

Edit:

I think I figured it out, but no luck. Although there are four parking spots on the carrier deck, it seems it wants to put me right on top of my escorts.

(I used separate slots for each)

I assigned Escort hornets to slots 1 and 2, and my wingman and me to 3 & 4.

What happened was the hornets spawned right on top of my wingman and me.

shdwp my good fellow.

SO many thanks for this. I'm one of those that keep banging on about Falcon 4's campaign and DCSs lack of one. This is making life so much more fun for me.

Now, a REALLY cheaky request.

Is there a way you could possibly expand the missions to include 3 or 4 missions in one? Maybe programming each mission for a given airbase, or having each airbase spawning a mission. I'm loading up each mission and adding more and more features before I fly.

Keep up the good work dude, really appreciate it :-)
