NBEagle
I wonder what version of the FW190 it will be, A or D? guess we could all guess which FW version it may be? hopefully a Dora...
Fox One
I'm dying to know which version it will be!!! My gut feeling - A-8 or D-9. D-9 would most likely be a better match for the Mustang. One thing is sure - we definitely need the MW-50 system, even though not even all D-9s had the system. Personally, I would enjoy immensely any version built to ED's DCS standard, I love equally all Focke Wulfs. But with a Dora I think it would be easier to fight the Mustang. @DavidRed - beautiful painting, thanks. My DCS videos
MACADEMIC
Dora would make the most sense to put up against the Mustang. But hopefully other versions of will be also released by and by (also for the Mustang!). MAC

Jona33
just imagine doing this in DCS! i can already feel that masses will switch from 1c to a real sim...good times ahead:thumbup: I dunno, I've never been any good at art, creating a painting might be tricky. :D Always remember. RoaringBones
as long as the 152 isn't in there ugh..bad experiences with that 1 from IL2 days lol. next war planes after that should go like this? Hellcat or Corsair < or Both. Japanese Zero :)
Konrad Friedrich
But with a Dora I think it would be easier to fight the Mustang. Possibly. The A-8 had a better turning and roll rate. The Dora was a bit faster and could climb and dive faster... Unsure what I like better... Well, the decision will be made by ED... Will be a lot of fun, anyway. Ala13_ManOWar
Anybody think on A5? She was made in more number than any version I think, and we have the only real one flying at Flying Heritage Collection. Available A8 are Flugwerk fakes with Chinese engines. About performances A5 wouldn't be very different from A8 and I think any version would be a good counterpart to P-51 on its better envelope. Anyway, whatever version would be great, A5, A8, D9... S! ZaltysZ
Antons were pretty clumsy up high. Dora is a better match for pony. Wir sehen uns in Walhalla.
nick10
To compete with the late model P-51D we have you would hope it would be a late model FW-190 - if only for the sake of historical accuracy. But I'll take what I can get at this stage. We have seen screens before of AI B-17s and there's talk in that video of new maps so I hope that the long term plan is to re-create 1945 escort missions over northern Europe. Which would be brilliant.
Krupi
I really can't decide, the Dora is my favourite aircraft but the Anton/Frederick are great ground pounders. While historically the Dora did carry bombs I don't think it was any where near the number that could be fitted to other variants. Krupi
Technically Yellow 10 is a D-13 so I don't expect we will get that one, there were not that many around but a D-9 would fit right in :) Windows 10 Pro | ASUS RANGER VIII | i5 6600K @ 4.6GHz| MSI RTX 2060 SUPER | 32GB RAM | Corsair H100i | Corsair Carbide 540 | HP Reverb G2 | MFG crosswind Pedals | Custom Spitfire Cockpit Project IX Cockpit

Sorry didn't see that :idiot: Man this news has cheered me up more than I can express I thought with the death of Clod a highly detailed ww2 sim was not going to be on horizon for decades PLEASE Eagle Dynamics/Third Party companys make this a reality :pilotfly: Windows 10 Pro | ASUS RANGER VIII | i5 6600K @ 4.6GHz| MSI RTX 2060 SUPER | 32GB RAM | Corsair H100i | Corsair Carbide 540 | HP Reverb G2 | MFG crosswind Pedals | Custom Spitfire Cockpit Project IX Cockpit
9.JG27 DavidRed
even if CLOD would still be alive, DCS would be the only chance to get a highly detailed WWII sim. CLOD is fine, but not detailed enough, and not sim enough..at least in my view. but good that you purchased the P51 to support the development for other WWII crates!i did the same on the same purpose...i bought it though i dont even like the Mustang(for no obvious reason), just to vote with my money... but i have to admit, i was pleasently surprised... and now due to DCS, and this highly detailed simulation, i really enjoy flying this bird i dont even like....i cant yet imagine how i will be amazed to fly the FW the first time... almonds
exciting. maybe within a decade we will see a dcs b-17? :) "The art of simulation design is about understanding limited fidelity... ...compromises must be made. Echo38
Actually, listen at 29:00. He specifically calls it a future DCS flying legends aircraft Not entirely sure that this means that it will be an E.D. plane, but here's hope. D-9 would most likely be a better match for the Mustang. One thing is sure - we definitely need the MW-50 system, even though not even all D-9s had the system. Simmers generally think that the FW-190A was a clumsy bird, but I don't think it was. They think so because it was that way in IL-2, but bear in mind that the IL-2 P-51 was also sluggish. The much-more-realistic DCS P-51 is vastly more agile than the joke one in IL-2, and I expect the same would be true of a DCS FW-190. I never heard a real FW-190 pilot complain about a lack of maneuverability. Edited January 22, 2013 by Echo38

We are the same mate I am no fan of the P-51, it's a great aircraft but I don't like it due to the number of people that think it was somehow vastly superior to the others, anyway I was quite surprised just how ergonomic the cockpit is I thought most allied aircraft were quite bad in that regards... Anyway it's a joy to fly, let's hope they continue building up these flying legends and eventually release a ww2 version of flaming cliffs, that's my DCS dream :D Windows 10 Pro | ASUS RANGER VIII | i5 6600K @ 4.6GHz| MSI RTX 2060 SUPER | 32GB RAM | Corsair H100i | Corsair Carbide 540 | HP Reverb G2 | MFG crosswind Pedals | Custom Spitfire Cockpit Project IX Cockpit
