Is it possible to read throttle position from F/A-18C?

Recommended Posts

Sorry, long time away from simming, and just slowly planning comeback after F/A-18C, so I apologize if this is already common knowledge...

My question is if there is any way to export the throttle levers position from the sim. If that is possible, it would enable some cool trick for a DIY hotas setup. I'll explain:

  • When ATC is disabled, just read the position sensors from the HOTAS, and send them back as axis to the sim/O.S. (I am actually thinking of a custom HID device implementation)
  • When ATC is engaged, disregard reading from the position sensors. Just take sim output, and actuate on motors to move the levers to that position

I think it would be quite cool to have a HOTAS setup where your throttle is moving on its own if autothrottle is engaged.

Well, I hope I managed to explain what I have in mind. Thanks in advance to anyone that cares to read and shed some light into this topic, as I am quite noob into DCS inport/export magic :P
