From wikipedia:

"While the R-3S was being introduced in 1961, work started on a semi-active radar homing (SARH) version for high-altitude use, the K-13R (R-3R or Object 320) with 8 km range, [...] This version was designated AA-2B by NATO."

"[...]K-13M (R-13M, Object 380) for the IRH and K-13R (R-3R) for the SARH variant [...]These were dubbed Advanced Atoll (AA-2C and AA-2D, respectively)"

So I am unsure about whether the R-3R is AA-2B or AA-2D or what is going on here:D

So,

  • R-3S(AA-2 Atoll B) -
  • R-3R (AA-2 Atoll C) - modification for semi-active radar homing
  • R-13M (K-13M, "Object 380», AA-2 Atoll D) - upgraded version of the R-3. Different form of tail and rudder, more sensitive freon-cooled seeker "Rime-70", new fuze. Designed in 1969. Adopted by January 3, 1974.
  • R-13M1 ( «Object 380m», AA-2 Atoll D) - upgraded version. It features an increased wing sweep double, new IR Seeker "Rime-M."
  • K-13VV - simplified version for "wartime" technology

I have found only this:

http://www.designation-systems.net/non-us/soviet.html#_Listings_AA

This is in according with me except for the R-3S, that here is designated as AA-2 "simple"
