Isolated Mission Editor

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure as to whether this has already been suggested, it probably has. Would it be possible to have a stand alone mission editor package that can be download say to our none gaming pc's such as laptops.

This would enable us to draft out missions without having to be at home, disconnect the VR etc. and then simply transfer the file upon completion.

Cheers

John

I believe it could be done since the output is nothing but a bunch of lua filees in a zip container. The hard part would to get the maps in a third party app for position coordinates. Plus you would be unable to actually test it you should be able to run a syntax check.

I have worked some with Combat Flight and I believe you can develop a new mission, then export it as a .miz file. FC has some limitations regarding building complex missions, like no facility for trigger actions, so that missions must be polished in the ME; but most of the basic mission development can be done in FC more efficiently than in the ME.

Well maybe they will develop a iPad version plus the trigger ability is what makes most missions

Or an ipad version... Well, I have a copy of DCS installed on my laptop to build missions while I am traveling.
Hi

Have you got you modules activated on your laptop as well as your gaming rig?

This is what I have been thinking of doing to use the laptop.
