Wishlist Addition: SA-2 Guideline

Recommended Posts

As above. I'd like to have SA-2 Guidline (S-75 Volkhov) as playable unit or as missile unit (steerable with canards, like Wasserfall missile in BF:1942 secret weapons of war)

Props to a full blown Fansong or Spoonrest adjuncts cabinets modeling.

AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

Agreed, an SA-2 would be a great SAM choice. In fact there are quite a lot of things from that era that could be added to DCS.

However, personally I'd rather get all the current stuff up to the same standard before adding more. Once that eventually happens (if it happens) then I'm all in for it.

Modules I own: F-14A/B, Mi-24P, AV-8B N/A, AJS 37, F-5E-3, MiG-21bis, F-16CM, F/A-18C, Supercarrier, Mi-8MTV2, UH-1H, Mirage 2000C, FC3, MiG-15bis, Ka-50, A-10C (+ A-10C II), P-47D, P-51D, C-101, Yak-52, WWII Assets, CA, NS430, Hawk.

Terrains I own: South Atlantic, Syria, The Channel, SoH/PG, Marianas.

System:

GIGABYTE B650 AORUS ELITE AX, AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Corsair Vengeance DDR5-5200 32 GB, Western Digital Black SN850X 1 TB (DCS dedicated) & 2 TB NVMe SSDs, Corsair RM850X 850 W, NZXT H7 Flow, MSI G274CV.

Peripherals: VKB Gunfighter Mk.II w. MCG Pro, MFG Crosswind V3 Graphite, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro.

thats cool I hope singles could be fired. And in the future, I hope, a full blown SA-2 module to be available.

Maybe not as a separate module, probably be combined arms style control like we can with more mobile SAMs such as Tunguska and Tor etc - with some improvements these can be made really good.

Oh, don't get me started on the asset pack... That asset pack does zilch to make CA better, all it did was add historical units to a decent standard, those said units whilst very good and you can see a bit of heart has gone into them, that I'm grateful for still suffer from the exact same thing as most CA units, which in light of the asset pack probably feel a little hung out to dry... It would've been better if the asset pack added different features to enhance the vehicles, not just add more - DCS is quality over quantity as it should be.

If you want to try SA-2 for real then try SAM Simulator https://sites.google.com/site/samsimulator1972/home especially S-75M3 on Ashluk testing rage with deception jamming (in most recent version) :o

believe me I did not buy them. I am waiting for ED to step up their game in vehicular warfare.

Yes I am aware of SAM sim, thank you. Problem is you dont have visuals like in DCS.

Given how many missiles were fired in Vietnam, it could also be called A Shot in the Dark ;)

i386DX40@42 MHz w/i387 CP, 4 MB RAM (8*512 kB), Trident 8900C 1 MB w/16-bit RAMDAC ISA, Quantum 340 MB UDMA33, SB 16, DOS 6.22 w/QEMM + Win3.11CE, Quickshot 1btn 2axis, Numpad as hat. 2 FPH on a good day, 1 FPH avg.

DISCLAIMER: My posts are still absolutely useless. Just finding excuses not to learn the F-14 (HB's Swansong?).

Annoyed by my posts? Please consider donating. Once the target sum is reached, I'll be off to somewhere nice I promise not to post from. I'd buy that for a dollar!

That is true considering 3/4 or maybe more of all aircraft losses attributed to the lead wall. ;)
