Mission 11 fps on the ground

Love the campaign but the fps took a huge hit on mission 11, start up, taxi and take off my frames drop considerably, get in the air and everything is completely fine - is this missions a heavy hitter in terms of horse power needed to run smoothly? Granted there is a lot of stuff going on but i sometimes get the feeling that the m2000 is a resource hungry jet, more so than say the av8-b - anyone else notice a drop in perfemance?

TL;DR:

Loaded Mission 11 up in single player - fps was similar to the other M-2000C campaign missions - ~45 fps on the ground (min ~35 fps), in the air 50-60 fps.

Detail:

I have DCS 2.5.2 pretty well optimised to avoid lag spikes in single player.

But had 3 or 4 lag spikes (~1 second) when messages triggered - don't know if it was 2.5.2, script triggers or because it was my first DCS run / texture load of the day.

To put my specs in context - my i7 has weak single core performance and I'm running DCS off a HD, rather than SSD, so avoid MP servers like the 104th as the large unit counts drop fps to the low 20's (at best).

Typical fps in Ranger 79's A-10C Piercing Fury - Mission 1 is ~35 fps

IMHO Mission 11 fps looks ok and the lag spikes I suffered were most likely due to the DCS engine or texture/effects loading.

I don’t think the mission is faulty, far from it, just that my pc which is fairly decent spec yet seemed to have a real hard time running it smoothly - as simgle player missions go this campaign has been amazing but has highlighted some issues i’ve never really had before and i’m keen to address the issue - is Ranger 79’s A-10C Piercing Fury a good mission to ‘benchmark’ performnce?

TBH, I'm not sure, it's just a mission I enjoyed that was on the limit of acceptable performance (~24 fps) on my system before the 1.5 -> 2.5 change.

I considered it a 'good' benchmark as Mission 1 was available as a 'sort of' free SP/MP trial while Ranger79 developed his full campaign.

Unfortunately the 'free' version doesn't look to have been updated for 2.5, but I expect Ranger79 is busy, keeping his paid DLC working in 2.5.x lol

So I gave that Piecing Fury mission a try and it was super smooth / really decent performance that i was happy with, i then went gack to mission 11 again to compare the 2 and it was also super butter smooth with no stutters whatsoever - the 2 ship su25’s took off followed by a pair a Mirage’s and even the mi-8 flying over did so completely smooth no jerkiness at all! I can’t explain why, even the taxi roll out ‘felt’ much better.

Gonna test some more and try and work out whats going on - thanks all

Ok so the problem looks to be connected with the game being in windowed mode, reverting back to full screen has completely sorted all fps issues including the stutters i had, its like a new game the diffence is really that huge. My apologies for posting this in the Campaign section for the Mirage, clearly it belongs in elsewhere - onto the final mission I go 07
