Default 2.1.1 Manpads wont fire on planes?

Or have I just been really unlucky? I have been loitering above them (not fast, and around 2-3000 ft above them), teasing for a shot, but nothing. But send a helicopter in, and they will engage the heli.

False alarm, sry.
No idea what the difference is, but I just made a quick mission with 2 pairs of manpad's, one with Red State, and one auto. They would both engage simultaneously, from 2000 ft to 10.000 ft, is what I tried.

A Line of Sight thing perhaps? Cant remember where Ive had these put in my sandbox missions, but I tend to hide them, and that of course narrows down their Line of Sight cone. In the test here I just threw them in the middle of nowhere.

Time of day can also make a big difference, maybe this was the problem?

Yea. I like sunrise with fog, even though it gets bright fairly quick. But even a few hours in, they wouldnt engage me, but as soon as Ka-50 (other player) approached, they would fire on him.
But yes, probably a combination of several factors. Cool though.
