Kiowa Warrior - Polychop Simulations

 

 

“With the help of the pilots we are currently evaluating details, which also includes the refinement

and corrections of the avionics system of the aircraft. During the coming weeks, we hope to inte-

grate the moving map feature to the avionics and also finetune the weapons and the flight model

of the Hellfire missiles and will integrate another rocket type, that we have not shown or talked

about yet, that will make it possible to properly engage infantry and light armoured vehicle units in

DCS World.

 

During the past months we have also worked on certain aspects of the flight model that either

needed corrections or refinements. For example, the torque values of forward flight at all possible

altitudes, speeds and temperatures. Currently, we are working on the hover torque requirements

to accurately mimic real aircraft as closely as possible. We are also looking at the flight character-

istics below ETL, effective translational lift.

 

Performance pages have recently been added to the DCS Kiowa Warrior MFD, which will enable

you to ask the system to calculate your power for certain flight envelopes in level and hover flight.

Night vision has also been added, which we plan to update prior to release with a new feature never

before seen in DCS World Helicopters, but we do not want to reveal anything yet, because we can

not yet foresee obstacles we may come across that might delay such a special night vision feature.

We are confident that on release, we will have realised the most accurate Kiowa Warrior representation

in the game market.

 

At the moment we have 19 US Army liveries of various Kiowa Warrior troops, these include older

aircraft markings. 16 Croatian army liveries were added as well, which is the complete fleet of the

Kiowa Warriors they operate, including the tail number 327 that crashed on the 27th of January 2020

and resulted in the unfortunate loss of the aircraft and crew. Our condolences go out to the family and

friends of the crew.

 

Since everyone was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, our production has slowed down a bit during

the past weeks, because we as a team were also affected. Nevertheless we are back to normal again

and our team is back to normal status because we have the desire to keep our promise for a release in

2020, which also includes the time required for the quality verification process by Bell Helicopters.

That said, we are also currently working on 3 stand-alone campaigns for the DCS Kiowa Warrior.

Per ovvi motivi “Longbowiani” è un mezzo che mi interessa molto ma sono molto preoccupato dal gruppo che lo sviluppa perché il loro unico precedente è di gran lunga il peggior modulo presente in DCS. Se fosse stato sviluppato da qualsiasi altra terza parte molto probabilmente lo avrei preso in preorder, qui ovviamente la tentazione è forte ma razionalmente mi sto frenando per attendere un reale riscontro sulla qualità del modulo.

Per ovvi motivi “Longbowiani” è un mezzo che mi interessa molto ma sono molto preoccupato dal gruppo che lo sviluppa perché il loro unico precedente è di gran lunga il peggior modulo presente in DCS. Se fosse stato sviluppato da qualsiasi altra terza parte molto probabilmente lo avrei preso in preorder, qui ovviamente la tentazione è forte ma razionalmente mi sto frenando per attendere un reale riscontro sulla qualità del modulo.

Infatti, nel caso specifico direi che è senz'altro saggio aspettare un riscontro reale prima di lasciarsi andare a facili e, evidentemente, prematuri entusiasmi.

La fama che precede questa terza parte non è propriamente rassicurante, di sicuro non invoglia ad acquistare il Kiowa sulla fiducia....

Infatti, quoto e sottoscrivo, prima di pensare all'acquisto del Kiowa ma per quanto mi riguarda potrebbe essere anche l' Apache questi signori devono appunto dimostrare con i fatti di aver cambiato la loro condotta anche e soprattutto a livello di supporto del modulo post-vendita, le parole e le buone intenzioni non bastano certamente più, poi come sempre ognuno agisce come meglio crede...

Ciao ragazzi in quanto ad armamento leggendo da varie fonti dovrebbe avere 4 hellfire oppure cannone e 2 hellfire oppure cannone e razziera...in pratica ha gli attacchi universali a sinistra e destra e sceglie se montare coppia hellfire ,o cannone, o razziera... Oltre a questo c'è qualche armamento in più del quale siete a conoscenza?

Dear community,

 

With the end of the year fast approaching and still a lot of work to do, we have come to a point where we have to accept that a 2020 release of the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior module is no longer feasible. We want to release a module that we feel is feature complete, mission ready and a true tribute to the men and women in army aviation. That is not to say no extra’s will be added later on. Even though we’ve been crunching the past months, we simply aren’t there yet.

 

We can imagine this is a disappointment to all who look forward to the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior module and we hope to make up for this with the polished release the module deserves. We’ll be working hard to get you the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior module as soon as possible.

Come al solito....

sta terza parte pare proprio non riuscire a “decollare”

avevano annunciato la release entro il 2020 per poi rimandare... e io dissi pure che facevano bene, ma sono passati due mesi e sembrano totalmente spariti....

Sul forum ufficiale c’è una discussione intitolata “un silenzio assordante”....

Inutile dire che nutrivo dubbi su di loro ma speravo tanto di essere smentito, anche perché il Kiowa è un compagno perfetto per l’Apache è avrebbe avuto un posto molto interessante in qualsiasi scenario.

Beh sono anni che usano di più FB e discord per gli update. Ma detto questo, bisogna anche considerare che una terza parte non si può svegliare una mattina e far uscire un modulo. Quando è pronto, si inserisce nella release list della ED, almeno che io sappia. Quindi facile sarà piazzato in mezzo tra mosquito e quello che verrà dopo (FORSE). Nel mentre, onestamente credo che niente sarà rilasciato prima della 2.7.

E forse, prima di passare dal "minchia che merda" al "minchia che figo" per poi tornare al "minchia che merda", quando ancora non è uscito, meglio aspettare che esca... e poi vedere dove si colloca.

Se è questo thread a cui ti riferisci, IMHO non è indicativo di nulla: tra l'altro sono stati pubblicati (anche in questo topic) diversi contenuti ufficiali posteriori alla data di quel thread.

Da ciò che si è visto finora il modulo e ben avviato sulla via dello sviluppo e probabilmente non è molto lontano dalla pubblicazione, ergo (salvo clamorose novità) credo si tratti di avere un po' di pazienza.
