Britchot
KC-135 can fly higher & faster and deliver more fuel. For instance the preferential speed to refuel Mirage 2000 is 300kt CAS. KC-130 can't fly that fast, we are around 230kt. Jojo, I was able to obtain a USAF KC-135 checklist with reference stating optimum IAS of 250-260knots for a Mirage 2000, when configured with a BDA or MPRS. There isn't a value for CAS for the Mirage 2000, although there is a space for it (notated by a dash). Also, there isn't an optimum altitude, either. For most aircraft with an IAS and CAS value, the CAS is slightly less than the IAS. However, it is still faster than the KC-130, and I'd love to see the KC-135 fixed. I found in an accident report from refueling on French C-135FR MPRS pod a HUD picture during refueling. 297kt/ 247xx ft (due to the quality, I can't read the last altitude digits). There can be some technical or procedure difference between French C-135FR and US KC-135, but I will stand to 300kt as optimal speed for Mirage 2000. Off course, they will adapt depending on the tanker and conditions... Mirage fanatic ! cypc
Preferred speed to refuel for french Mirage 2000 is 300 kt at 20 000 ft, confirmed by a french M2000C pilot. IIRC it's just because it's the most comfortable speed to refuel, he also said it can go down to 170 kt. "You don't rise to the occasion, you fall to your level of preparation." I mistyped, I meant "faster" than the KC-130. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] CPU - Intel 8088 @ 4.77 MHz; Memory - 128KB; 360KB double-sided 5 1/4" full-height floppy disk drive; 10MB Seagate ST-412 hard drive JG-1 MiG-21bis Checklist

Revelation
Yes, I can; but the KC135 is here and bugged since a very long time ago! I understand and I'd love to see it fixed as well. In the meantime, use what works. If you need TACAN on the IL-78, use MOOSE and it works perfectly. JayBird
+1 That or remove it from the game. Precisely, it's annoying to have people say "use something different" Whys the aircraft still in the editor if the only functionality it provides doesn't work?
