hold short runway 3R -> contact Tower

after takeoff -> contact Departure

when you arrive at the last waypoint -> Grab ATIS and select the right information in the F10 menu to contact Approach

around 5nm to Nellis AFB -> contact Tower

After landing -> contact Ground for parking

Emergency ->this will show up after departure clearance, you can select it anytime with F10 menu , if you are in trouble Nellis ATC will let you land immediately, firetrucks will wait you at the end of the runway.

How Custom ATC works:

Emergency landing:

NOTES:

- there COULD be some bugs on ATC voice overs (mostly VOs cutting each others or missing) , please report if any.

- some map images in briefing are from the F18 version , in the next days i'll try to replace them , for now follow navigation from Mission Data Card.

- when in multiplayer ONLY HOST can deal with ATC cause function that see SPACEBAR input works only with host player

I've tried all the missions as much as I could , if there are some bugs please report.

You can also land using the overhead pattern if you wish to do it. :smilewink:

How to turn down the music in 1 mission

You just simply cant in game... you can edit the mission and remove the trigger that enables music.

I can't seem to hide the flight stick in the missions. The colors on that first mission is pretty dang good. The limits of NVG's in VR are still frustrating for the third flight, but still a blast.

The function that wait the "spacebar action" also works for "backspace" which is binded for hide the stick.

Just use another key for hiding the stick.

Unfortunately I cant force AI to use lights during night so you cant do it "old style" :D

Awesome! Looking forward to flying those !

Good job  This is the kind of training I was looking for in a new module! Certainly did not expect to fly a campaign a month after release!

It usually says to use Comm2 Channel X (that's how it's done IRL probably) so I used VHF/UHF of RIO, which was pain to set through this horrible Jester menu, but I quickly figured it works the same with my pilot's UHF.

That Humvee (1st mission) could go slower - it's night, we're not allowed to taxi that fast and I saw another one near the Alpha taxiway so it could be confusing.

Being not native I might have not catch all the radio messages. Distortion and low volume made it harder too.

At the end of mission 2 (F-5 formation) I'm asked for right answer that I didn't know. I chose Alpha just because. What was the other option for? No need for emergency at the time - fuel 6000.

Good thing is the Tigers were datalinked :)

Why this client/slot style?

Why this client/slot style?

The campaign was originally designed for F18 , that's why some of the messages report CHxx COMM 1 or 2 .

Refer always to Channel for both radio ( their preset are the same ) , I have to fix some wrong messages I left behind.

As you can see missions are quite complicated with a lot of triggers, I miss something in the "translation" to the F14.

I think the humvee goes at 20knts... but I can totally slow it down.

At the end of the mission 2 you are asked to "grab ATIS" ( listen to CH2 ) , here you can hear "information" ( Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, etc ) .

Once you catch it go to F10. menu and select the right information.

Once selected a message will tell you to switch to channel 6 and contact Nellis Approach by pressing "Spacebar".

You can refer to the videos in the first post to see how all custom ATC works.

Are Tigers datalinked? Maybe they are only visible on the wingman radar and shared.

Client/slot is for using the mission with a human RIO.

If someone has used this mission as a coop pilot/RIO please let me know how was the experience! :)

I can see how it works and it works for me ok, I just didn't catch that "information" so didn't know exactly what to choose from F10.

On the datalink it may well be the wingman.

Thanks, keep up the good job!

Great campaign!! I am really enjoying it..

However, this happened to me during mission 3 (night formation):

While escorting refueler, everything going right and calm, I received a message "Head stearpoint 3 and RTB". No more messages for the rest of the flight. I got to my parking slot. Shutt down engines and exit mission.

Now I have to start the campagin from the very begining. What went wrong? Any way to continue the campaign from mission 4?

Thank you!!!

Same mission - when I finally got close to the tanker the RTB message appeared right away but I poked around him for some time and then RTB - after parking Result was still 0.

I got that message too, but kept flying, saw the F117, then F10 to rtb again. I think it's a bug that the message comes across at all

After the F117 there are a couple of F15E for refueling ( not mandatory ).

Once done ( or bingo fuel ) make sure to be over Steerpoint 3 to activate the classic "grab atis" procedure.

This campaign requeirs you to be over every steerpoint to activate triggers , I think I'll enlarge trigger zones cause with F14 and RIO management you dont always fly precisely over them.

Anyway you can also fly single missions if you want , campaign is just a plus.

Same mission - when I finally got close to the tanker the RTB message appeared right away but I poked around him for some time and then RTB - after parking Result was still 0.

I think I had fixed this one , do you have the last version?

Will investigate anyway.

Another thing...

Flyed single mission number 4 (AAR and dogfighting)

When I got a gun solution cue and hit the trigger, no guns went out of the nose.. I realized the spacebar key was used both for radio interaction and trigger. I had to pause the fight, assign a free key for the trigger and take the agressor down, one hand on stick and the other on keyboard..

Does that key conflict happen in every mission or maybe it was just a casual issue?

Thanks

I think in every mission , it pretty much depends on how trigger key is binded.

Just clear the keayboard bind and use the one on your HOTAS.

Yes, you can do that but you have to match the stage number with the corresponding mission file name.
