VirusAM
A quick screenshot from testing a new concept for Raven One campaign: setting your wingman as separate flight and giving him contextual orders via F-10 menu. This will allow for more sophisticated actions and more immersion, as whoever you are flying with will speak with the same voice throughout the mission (especially if it is Psycho or Olive - would't like her to have male's voice when responding to standard wingman orders!). So far the results are really promising and if it works fine, I intend to use this option in most (if not all) of the missions throughout the campaign.Nice idea... could be a game changer for DCs ai Inviato dal mio Pixel 3a utilizzando Tapatalk R7-5800X3D 64GB RTX-4090 LG-38GN950 Valve Index VPForce Rhino FFB, Virpil F-14 (VFX) Grip, Virpil Alpha Grip, Virpil CM3 Throttle + Control Panel 2, Winwing Orion (Skywalker) Pedals, Razer Tartarus V2 SpeedMaster Flight Seat, JetSeat
Sedlo
In regards to callsign, keep in mind the SA display will show other LINK16 capable aircraft as the lirst and last letter of the DCS callsign. In the campaign I'm working on I've also decided to go for different callsigns (for other flights, at least), but I wanted the SA page to look realistic. So I came up with lists of words that start and end with the same letter as the DCS ones. example:
PONTIAC PICNIC PANIC PLASTIC PHONIC PUBLIC
Callsigns like RAVEN or SPARTAN wound't show up accurately on the SA page, because currently it will only show the usual SPRINGFIELD, UZI, COLT (etc) first and last letters only. baltic_dragon
Good point, many thanks! For this mission I already changed the callsign (for the sake of AAR, where the tanker would call out wrong ones)...
Cytarabine
Will the campaign use the new carrier and comms module? One of the things I really enjoy in your M2000 Red Flag campaign is dealing with more realistic radio and ATC procedures (even if it did mean me failing a mission because I flew over Groom Lake (I wasn’t UFO spotting I swear!)) I understand it might raise the cost to entry, but having seen the video of it in action I am really keen on the immersion it will add.
baltic_dragon
I am not 100% sure, but it is very likely. Before Nimitz was unveiled, with new ATC and deck crew, I was thinking about developing a whole system of my own (similar to Red Flag), but now - seeing how nice the thing done by ED is going to work - I'd rather not wast a lot of time for breaching the open door... Besides: this should be the most accurate set of missions procedure-, comms-, briefing- etc. wise developed for DCS to date (thanks to involvement of three seasoned ex Hornet drivers at all stages). I can't imagine having the full experience without the deck crew and proper ATC. Finally: setting up more than 4 aircraft to take off in a set order is practically impossible at this point on Stennis (no parking spots and seemingly random way in which the game puts more than 4 cold start aircraft on deck). And for some of the later missions it will really be needed to be able to send up more Hornets in order. Hope that Nimitz will deliver on this front. baltic_dragon
A short update on Raven One. The scripts are progressing, voiceovers for first missions incoming and work on skins - ongoing. Attached two screenshots of new tan flight suit that would be used when flying over Persian Gulf without any patches - as those are usually removed before any combat mission. We're making good progress!

Andrei
@Baltic: regarding the campaign vs the announced Hornet features. Are you waiting for ED to develop some parts of core avionics and weapons, such as A2G radar and SLAM / Harpoon to introduce them in your missions? Or are you planning to release the campaign with the systems in weapons that we have nowadays? It's gonna be a blast anyway, but I would certainly enjoy a few deep strike and anti-ship missions with some advanced "goodies" on the way.
