Deadman's A-10 C Cockpit Build

Deadman

Recommended Posts

Me naw just nutty I started collecting parts when i was still flying Lockon the change from an A-10A to the C set me back a bit but well I am getting there slowly parts are very scarce.

Well here are the pictures the grip is from an F-16 it still has the pinky paddle on it i will remove it some time

IMG_3439.jpg

IMG_3440.jpg

The threaded base of the grip showing the male Amphenolconnector and the mating connector area I had to cut the two side key ways in to the grip to mate the stick to it

IMG_3441.jpg

This is the mating area of the stick it has two keys sticking out of the face

and the compression collar

IMG_3443.jpg

Here i have inserted a cut down housing from the old connector the was for fewer larger female pins in the old Amphenol connector this will creat a base for the new connector to be glued to. to keep it stable in the grip

IMG_3445.jpg

the new center prsion of the new Amphenolconnector with all but one of the keys removed

IMG_3447.jpg

IMG_3446.jpg

Here the connector has been placed into the grip the female pins have not been soldered to the 28 AWG wire yet after that pins will be installed in to the connector labeled and sealed up.

IMG_3450.jpg

The grip next to the stick

and some picture of them temporally connected

where did you got these parts from, that´s awesome. I sniffing around through Ebay but rarely found such things. may be Ebay is not the best source, isn´t it?

Where to find the parts well eBay and several other places. I have posted numerous eBay listings for parts in that thread, I have also offer several of my spare parts up for sale and normally people are shocked at the price that are well below what it would cost you to make the panel or part. As most seller in the states i don't sell out side of the U.S. due to current export restrictions.

I would suggest first you do your research and know exactly what your looking for as for parts and control (boxes) Heads. Some are shares with the different versions of the F-16. This does drive the price up but some time. I have out bid F-16 builders on some items and been out bid on others. I am still looking for a few things but that is a part of the journey for me

A "HogViper" stick or maybe the other way around, hehe.. Great work and result DM !

Whats your plan for the base attachment of the stick, remove the original "fork" and building an adapter for a TM Hog base or make a home made base ?

(edit.. or knowing you, you might already have the true "tub" ready... ;-)

HI Gus I have a real throttle and real stick and grip.

There is no need for the TM Warthog i will make a base to attach the stick as it is at

the correct height in the floor of the cockpit I am not sure what IO solution to use yet

PHCC ,Open cockpit or some thing else. no the tub has not been started yet to busy

with other things.

and MS27754-35M HW 12TW1-56M http://sensing.honeywell.com/product%20page?pr_id=33198 for on(mom)-on-on ,but i don't know the different between from 12TW1-50M and 12TW1-56M, what is defferent?

Which is correct?

3) The Antenna Select panel

IFF ANT MS24659-21E is on-off-on , but the game is use on-on-on input

Whether i can use MS27408-4A HW 2TL1-10A on-on-on maintained?

4) What different from non-maintained and maintained switch?

5) UHF UPPER MS27718-23 can not find, just find MS27718-23-1 HW 11TW1-3 on-on, but hte game is on-on-on input, which is correct ?

I have tried to sort through your post and answer your questions.

Witch have been difficult to understand you may wish to try and make your questions a bit clearer. This is the best I can do DM

Sorry, I am not sure your mean the follow item

1) Environmental Panel

WINDSHIELD RAIN REMOVE MS27753-39, 12TW1-50 is on(mom)-on-on http://sensing.honeywell.com/product%20page?pr_id=33159

but i saw the game is on-on-on , 12TW1-10 is correct?

On My Panel It is what I posted

2) CMSP Panel

Systems switches 4x MS27754-5M cannot find , I just find MS27754-39M HW 12TW1-50M on(mom)-on-on http://sensing.honeywell.com/product%20page?pr_id=33182

The switch I have Is MS27754-5M ,12TW1-50M this is on its side. I have confirmed this is the correct switches for the System switches

and MS27754-35M HW 12TW1-56M http://sensing.honeywell.com/product%20page?pr_id=33198 for on(mom)-on-on ,but i don't know the different between from 12TW1-50M and 12TW1-56M, what is difference?

I have no Idea contact Honeywell or look it up on the net

Which is correct? See above

3) The Antenna Select panel

IFF ANT MS24659-21E is on-off-on , but the game is use on-on-on input

What is your Question?

Whether i can use MS27408-4A HW 2TL1-10A on-on-on maintained?

No Idea i don't know what system for controlling your switches or your IO system. I all so don't know what you want to use it for

4) What different from non-maintained and maintained switch?

non-maintained is a momentary switch you let go and it returns to it center position. IE (on)-off (on) the () indicate momentary positions

maintained you move it from on position to the next it stays on-off- on indicate maintained positions but i may have misunderstood your question

5) UHF UPPER MS27718-23 can not find, just find MS27718-23-1 HW 11TW1-3 on-on, but the game is on-on-on input, which is correct ? 11TW1-3

6) Environmental Panel

PITOT HEAT NSN 5930-01-008-6930 PART # A3-1127 can not find, where can i buy? I have no Idea

7) Environmental Panel

BLEED AIR SWITCH is use 1TL1-3D on-on Lock out of center position , why

it is an on off switch

MAIN AIR SUPPLY SWITCH is use 1TL1-3F on-on Lock in extreme position?

What is your Question?

8 ) I did not touch real A-10C switch, How can i know which side is Lock for each switch? How can i know use which switch such as Environmental Panel - BLEED AIR SWITCH, MAIN AIR SUPPLY SWITCH between from 1TL1-3D on-on Lock out of center position and 1TL1-3F on-on Lock in extreme position? I don't understand what your question is
