Why did we change from M50 to PGU

M50 designed for air to air, has poor air to ground balistics at low alts. Inability to penetrate lightly armored ground.

при преодолении только первого пушка делает 16+/-4 выстрела т.е. короткую очередь

при преодолении второго пушка выходит на непрерывный огонь

Phalanx получили новые апгрейды в которых пневмо-механический привод (с баллонами) заменяется на электрический. Это позволяет снизить массу на 85 кг и позволяет электрически варьировать скорость стрельбы.

Система прошла испытания на виброустойчивость во время стрельбы.
