Hey guys,

Quick update. Just to get some of you a bit more excited.

We finally have a decision on the EDGE SDK.

It's a YES!

I'm doing a quick video about it and recording some footage from inside EDGE. Should be a quick video to make, look for it later tonight.

Hopefully we can organize a community effort to create more landscapes for DCS WWII. This can mean a community-created Southern England, or Ardennes, or Market Garden, or Ruhr, there are tons of options and I really look forward to a discussion on this topic!

So ED will release the SDK too? What will stop maps from being imported into DCSW?

My guess would be that the maps are not editable, you create them in the SDK then they require compiling. Unless there is a decompiler or the sources available we wouldn't be able to get the Normandy Map into DCSW.

However since they are the same Game someone will probably find a way to copy and paste a terrain between the games.

Far as I understood it the maps as well as everything else was supposed to be cross-compatible between DCS:W and DCS:WWII.... if thats what you were asking... and to be honest, I would imagine it is ED that is releasing the SDK, not RRG... but thats just a guess.

Central Europe for some cold war nudging :D

Or Georgia... lol. Central Europe would be fun. For DCS WWII, I want all of Europe, the Med and Northern Africa. Oh and the Soloman Islands and Phillippines.

Truly superior pilots are those that use their superior judgment to avoid those situations where they might have to use their superior skills.

Very happy to see this. I think it's brilliant to take advantage of the incredible amount of ambition and talent in this community. Imagine if just a fraction of the energy spent ranting was focused on map-making! I kid, I kid. I vote for Debden first :)
