questions from Luthier on the 190

Recommended Posts

The FW190 is an ED project not RRG. Though it seems that RRG are involved in the whole process. Wouldn't hurt to have posted the link here but it belongs in the ED section of the forum.

That's all good but if you are looking for persons knowledgeable on WWII aircraft you think you'd look in the WWII section. Not to mention the fact that he has not posted in his own forum section for more than 3 months. February is almost gone, are we going to hear more excuses? ...or more silence.

But couldn't you tell him this yourself in your weekly skype team discussions? - oh, wait. Scrap that.

I guess a number of people were actually awaiting some kind of news about a beta-release in the nearer future. What I gathered from previous statments is that they were only gonna start making those once they have all the information that´s necessary since initially it was (and still is) ED´s brainchild. This is nothing too different from the discussion/presentation in Yoyo´s thread about the FW190´s engine or the Spitfire´s stability, but that was months ago. Why come forward with these questions now? I´m sure there are always lots of people willing and able to help.

I doubt it was an issue with them waiting to ask these questions till now, but remember there was some delay because of the Huey, its possible these issues didnt arise till coding of the systems for the 190 began/continued.

Sorry, but I´m not sure what you mean by a delay caused by the Huey. Maybe I´m fogetting something quite obvious right now, but did the coding/finalization for 1.2.7 cause this delay of other prjects or what was it? Or maybe I just missend a few relevant posts again ;)

They said a programmer needed to help out with some issues with the Huey before the 190 could resume.

Don't you usually answer questions about what things actually looked like before you create the model? He said these questions are for the manual, but if you don't know what it looks like what did they build?

Honestly I dont know how the workflow is with aircraft creation, I think when you get into things like aircraft from the 40's where the reference material is a little thinner you might run into issues that cause you to go back to the model or code to adjust to match, if that makes any sense.

I am sure in a perfect world, having the model created 100% correct the first time would be preferred but if they want to keep things moving, and the model was created before research was completed, I can see how these things might pop up.

I guess this means we aren't seeing a 190 beta any time soon:(

If you are saying go forward with best guess with information in hand I dont see anything wrong with it IMHO. Treat it as place holder and if/when solid information is obtained then apply it. There could still be a gotcha even with that also. :)

Intel i5-9600K @ 3.7GHz

Gigabyte Z370XP SLI Mobo

G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4

GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 2070 8GB 256-Bit GDDR6(Assume the latest driver version)

Thermaltake Water 3.0 Certified Liquid Cooling System

Windows 10 Professional

Oculus Rift-S /TrackIR 5 in case VR dies
