Where exactly do I find the input configuration files?

Recommended Posts

I'm having a rather hard time here re-installing my inputs after I had to reinstall Windows.

I though`t c:\users\username\saved games\DCS\Config\Input\<modulename>

I only see .diff.lua there and these contain for example the default button layout for, say, wing sweep in the F-14B - even in a backup I drew a while back.

Am confused. Help?

mine are exactly where you say they are

example huey.

C:\Users\username\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\UH-1H

with sub folders joystick, keyboard and mouse.

and a modifiers.lua file.

My Rig: AM5 7950X, 32GB DDR5 6000, M2 SSD, EVGA 1080 Superclocked, Warthog Throttle and Stick, MFG Crosswinds, Oculus Rift.

As stated they are under

C:\Users\username\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input"module name"

The next set of folders are self explanatory eg: joystick, keyboard, mouse etc:

joystick contains the USB devices for HOTAS

Usually after a Windows reinstall dear old windows will assign new addresses to all the ports and screw the pooch for you.

First I'd copy my profiles to a safe place, then do a DCS install, once that is done I'd check the new addresses that have been assigned to your hardware.

Then you can change your old config files to the new addresses assigned in the above folders.

Finally copy over the readdressed "old configs" to the C:\Users\username\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input"module name"\joystick folder replacing the standard confiigs DCS has generated and you should be good
