Socket7
Fantastic stuff! One question. I thought that the MI-8 didn't suffer from mast bumping, because it's rotor head is designed differently from the Hueys. Am I wrong in that understanding? Practice makes perfect. Charly_Owl
Fantastic stuff! One question. I thought that the MI-8 didn't suffer from mast bumping, because it's rotor head is designed differently from the Hueys. Am I wrong in that understanding? This is one hell of a good question. I have found no data anywhere that leads me to believe that the Mi-8 can not suffer from mast bumping, nor have I found data that confirms that it does. If you can find that answer, I would appreciate it. I will modify the guide accordingly. AlphaOneSix
Mast bumping is only an issue on two-bladed, teetering rotor systems (semi-rigid rotor system). Rigid (BO105, EC135, Bell 412, etc.) and fully-articulated rotor systems (anything with more than two rotor blades that's not rigid) are immune to mast bumping. Good to know, I deleted the page about mast bumping. I should've suspected that... especially since I wrote that "Mast Bumping was applicable to two-bladed rotors only". I can be such a dumbnut sometimes. 2 Chuck's DCS Tutorial Library Chuck's Guides on Mudspike Chuck's Youtube Channel Chuck's Patreon
