Could This PC Build Run DCS

Recommended Posts

Im looking to spend about $500 to build a pc, after some research I decided to go with this setup. Could this run DCS at 60+ fps on high settings?

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 2200G 3.5 GHz Quad-Core Processor

MB: MSI B450M PRO-VDH Micro ATX AM4

RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8) DDR4-3000 Memory

GPU: PowerColor Radeon RX 570 4 GB RED DRAGON

SSD: Team L5 LITE 3D 240 GB 2.5

PSU: Corsair CX 450 W

Why an AMD with iGPU if you add a dGPU ???

This setup makes zero sense imho.

My system in sig does 60 fps stable locked @ 1440 max settings.

You need something like a 2060, 2070 or 5700 with a 1080p monitor with high settings to hold 60 in DCS.

No, you don't. I'm still using a 10606g with 1080 monitor and get a steady 90-100fps. High settings but I don't use shadows. I don't mind given those up to have the rest on high including MSSA. I just make believe it's always a cloudy day. :)

Well it depends on what you are doing in DCS. I like it locked fixed at 60 (Trackir), sure can go a lot higher, but I play on a very large dynamic server so I always relate to that and some eventually going to do that when they build a system. That's what I call really testing the system out at a smooth 60 fps and not budge under this at anytime with hundreds of units and pvp ground tank battles. I use max shadows, like the eye candy.

Hi, afaik the APUS have only x8 pcie lanes for gpu. Shouldnt be a bottleneck but in my country a Ryzen 1600 costs the same, has six cores and is produced 12nm. It has far more power!

However, if you want 60fps at high settings without lag spikes, you need a gpu with 6gb or more, a gtx1070 can do it. (I had both an gtx1060 and 1070, the 1060 struggled high settings @1080p)

Yes, how you use it matters a lot. I don't fly online anymore and that helps. My vision stinks, so I don't like shadows. Sometimes the shadows make the cockpit too dark. Of course VR is out of the question but i've used Trackir for so many years i'm used to it.

I keep waiting for my 1060 to be limiting but at my settings, it keeps chugging along.
